nelson - what do you make of murky's 'extension'?

I know we're making a lot out of this non-endgame but since we're here...

I've got the (2,6,4) phrase but that only narrows the possibilities down to 36 places. I thought of Bank because Andy Lemon = Money Land but that doesn't satisfy my (2,6,4).

Of course, for the landmarks, five letters must be changed before they are revealed. A nudge or a big shove would be appreciated. Are the 5 letters together or scattered? Are there real words still in the grid after the changes? Word lengths? Symmetrical or otherwise? Thanks.

orson - "the 6 solutions reveal a phrase (2,6,4) which further qualifies it", ie further qualifies the word describing an aspect of his location - there are thus 2 possibilities rather than 36.

Orson, you'll have real words after the changes. There are two changes to get the first landmark, three to get the second (the one I mentioned earlier as being a bit of a stretch for me! I later checked Wiki and it's more widely-known than I'd thought). There are hints earlier in the thread about the location (in the grid).

I see, spoffy, thanks. I thought I'd already used the word from the misprints in order to get the (2,6,4). I didn't realize I had to use it again.

And thanks too, malone, yet again!

You're welcome, Orson. I've ignored all the stuff about looking for the setter in the grid - there had been enough steps before that me! If we'd been asked to highlight it/him, I'd have had to soldier on.

drxx, I've not had much chance yet today to think about murky's 'extension' - but I'm enjoying the theories and debate. And I don't think Triton would have featured Andy Lemon just for fun.

Hi all
I quite like Murky's idea too, the word fits neatly and can't be a coincidence, can it? Whatever, I'm still baffled by the actual choice of location and renowned setter, I presume there is a link somewhere?

I see the five letter word between the two locations - which can represent 'O'. I agree that this might be more than coincidence.
