Upon completion I thought the double meaning of second word in hint extremely clever...

I've finished it all except 33a - I have L?ET?E. Have I got the correct letters filled in? I think so but the only word I can see that fits I can't really fit with the wordplay or definition.

33a: First three words are the definition, after correcting the very first letter. Then 3-letter word for sheltered, and 3-letter word for lease with an alteration in the order of the letters.

I’m nearly there but cannot find the fourth character in the letter string. I have characters in 16a, 28a and 9d
Presumably my missing character Is the individual to be entered below.
Could somebody point me to the clue?

I've no longer got my copy, but I think there was one around 30/31 Across - and I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread. (I'm on my phone, so it's hard to check things quickly and easily!)
