I am still struggling with last two.

24. Fly for example rising over cattle yard for pricey meal.
malone did say before p is extra so I am looking for ricey meal. But have no idea. Also how is fly used. What is the length of full word?

28a. Starting in contemplation, live next to managed farm (5)
T is extra. I have B?in?,
The only word I can think of is begazing.

Heavy hints please.

28 The 'ricey meal' is eight letters long and involves rice, fish, curry powder (I think). The first part of the word will be the thematic element.

Thanks malone.

I am aware of the Indian version of the dish.

?????ree began its life as khichari, a dish of rice and lentils in India but slowly transformed into the current dish during the time of the British Raj.

Is 28a a normal clue?

I think 28 A is thematic - but I didn't get the thematic element!

Thanks malone.

I have inserted G in the fifth position of 28a. That would do.

7D is normal, not thematic.

Saustin, thanks for the 28 A information. I was happy enough with my entry and didn't have the energy (or inclination) to look for a thematic element.
