Good day, Elle!
Not too bad start to the day here.
Dry, anyway.
Laura is from Kinross, but runs for the Harriers.
So, we shall gladly accept her as a local lass!
One of her lecturers at Glasgow Uni is Hayley Haining.
Remember her?
There is Diamond League at Zurich on Thursday.
Wonder if Laura will run there?
I will watch the Diamond League today.
The Tour of Spain is on too.
And one of my fav golfers, Rickie Fowler, is leading the US tour event, so I shall keep an eye on that, in the evening.
That's good you are meeting up with the family.
Family is all important!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, family is very important and we fortunately see a lot of ours...especially our younger daughter and family.
Daughter rang just after I'd previously messaged you!
After some discussion about the black clouds overhead (!), we decided upon meeting tomorrow as the plan is to go for a picnic!
So we are driving over there in the morning and going to a large park near them!
It is a lovely place with a river and a lake - so the dog will be well pleased!
And I can finish the Everyman and watch the Diamond League today.
It has worked out well!
Hayley Haining? Not sure.....is she an older (about Jo's age?) marathon runner?
You will be busy if you have cycling and golf to watch also!

Hi, Rusty!
I am not sure if you are about?
We have been out for a walk.....a slight breeze got up, and it felt much fresher, so we decided to take the dog out for another walk.
Far more enjoyable out than of late!
The black clouds blew over and still no rain though.
We went to our local Country Park.
I watched the Paris Diamond League earlier - it was good to see Laura in action (again)!
She has really come into her own!
Desiree Henry did well to come second in the Women's 200m.
I found it interesting that the top three for each event in the Diamond League were listed.
This hasn't happened before in the highlights.
Only two more DLs to go now......
Are you having a good day?
How are you faring with the cycling and the golf?

Good evening, Elle!
Yes, I am a bout.
Dry here but a shade cooler.
Yes, my day is fine.
I saw Laura again.
That was Eurosport coverage the BBC had.
Same commentators.
Hayley is a touch older than Jo Pavey.
Well, I did not watch cycling.
I am rationing my viewing.
Will put the golf on soon, though.
Seems very noisy at the loch?
I can't identify the noise.

Hey, Rusty!
I think whoever edits the Eurosport coverage for the BBC could be a little less frugal with the time element!
Didn't you think it was all very rushed?
I find it very disruptive the way they hurry on from one race to the next - sometimes even interrupting with another event!
There is hardly time to find out who wins!
Surely they could add another twenty minutes, say, onto the transmission time and take it a bit easier?
I haven't watched much television at all over the weekend......only two hours!
And that was both of the athletics highlights!
I am enjoying my new book.
This is Volume Six of "The Clifton Chronicles" by Jeffrey Archer.
I do like his books.
I've looked in on the osprey site...no bird at home!
The only noise I could hear sounded like wind? but strangely there was no movement of the trees to account for that?

Hello, Elle!
The BBC will do their own editing.
Well, they have to fit the evenings coverage in to one hour so it may come over as rushed.
It is noisier than it has been.
Not the wind, no.
It is not road traffic (they said the roads were closed for repair).
Maybe a machine or generator?
The young male bird and two crows were there earlier.

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry, I perhaps didn't put that very well.
I meant that I couldn't see why the BBC transmission had to be limited to one hour.
A little longer, and the coverage could be much more coherent.
Highlights yes, but comprehensible , please!
I have discovered when the last two Diamond Leagues are being shown on BBC television.
1 Sep – Zurich - showing on Saturday 3rd September BBC 1.15pm
9 Sep – Brussels - showing on Saturday 10th Sept on BBC at 1.10pm
Although no doubt you will prefer to watch on Eurosport, as it certainly seems to be more prolific!
I have no cousin with whom to chat, tonight! She has texted to say that she is held up in Halifax!
I wonder what she is doing there?
How is your golf going?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine day here!
Halifax?
Could she be shopping? Heavy traffic?
You must have noticed over the years that BBC has abandoned most of the sport. Probably to do with costs.
Their showing of the Diamond League is a condensed effort which they have bought in.
Now, if you had Eurosport, today from around 3 o'clock both Eurosport channels will be showing the US Open tennis.
The golf was excellent.
The Ryder Cup is only a few weeks away, too.
I am looking forward to it!

Good morning, Rusty!
A lovely day here, too!
You have just caught me!
We are shortly (15 minutes) going to leave to meet up with daughter and family.
We are going to Danson Park in Bexleyheath, and are taking a picnic - orders of BB!
Danson Park is a lovely place - Google it and you shall see!
I am envious of your being able to watch the tennis!
But I shall try the BBC Sports website later.
I should be back about teatime.
Have a good day!

Good afternoon, Elle!
I looked up Danson Park (new to me!).
It is a fine looking park.
Hope you all did plenty running about!
Envious of me getting the tennis?
Upgrade to Eurosport!
Is it on Freeview?
I have been round the Nature Trail.
Well, part of it.
I have to jump out of the way of young girls on horseback.
Up and coming Nina Carberrys!
