Pigale, my weather is much like the rest of Britain.
Foggy the last two days.
You are lucky with the Indian Summer!
We had some nice days lately, and a fair bit of rain.
I think I will vote for Sonny Bill for Sports Personality of the Year!

Hi, Rusty!
My annual eye check reminder came recently, addressed as: "To the parents of Mrs. L. ......." and said that children should be taken to the optician regularly for their eye checks!!!!!
My second childhood???
Any prescription changes needed for you? Do you wear glasses other than for reading ?
Congratulations to Miss L- Plate! What shall we call her now? Miss
ND? (for 'new driver'?)
Very well done! Is she taking you out to celebrate?
I've had a look at the photographs of the dust storms - thank you for the reference - I had no idea as to their intensity. How terrifying. I hope you enjoy your book!
I had intended having a look at Amazon today with a view to ordering some more books , but haven't yet got round to it, as we have been out again this afternoon.
A very pleasant day developed after our earlier thick fog.
Are you friends from Norn Iron still here? the same ones as visited before?

Ros and Aristo!
I love "The Angry Raisins"!
But " Out of sight, out of mind" translating to "Invisible and Insane" has to take the biscuit!
Brilliant!

No, Pigale, I haven't heard of "Diana" - it is one that has passed me by, although I have read those other books by Delderfield you mentioned.
I've always intended to read "The Avenue Goes to War" by the same author - I think I have the title right? Not sure about that ?
Maybe another for my book list!
Thanks for asking after the dog's abscess - yes, it looks a little smaller but s till definitely there!

Miss P ! Some people elect to have a P sign (for probationer?) on their car after they've passed their test to remind others to be wary. My very first trip out alone (by which time I had cost my dear father a great deal of money, having demolished a gatepost and a bicycle!) I was concentrating so hard on looking right at a T junction. I totally forgot to look left. Luckily the oncoming car could brake in time.

Elle, I wear specs for reading, that's all. No prescription change.
My eyes are healthy and vision is good, but I did not do well on perimetry test.
So, they phoned me to let me know they want test repeated in 3 or 4 months.
Miss L Plate?
Yes, a new name. I know!
On my phone, each one of my family has their own personal ring tone.
Hers is La Bamba. So, Miss La Bamba from now on!
Wonder what it means? Mine is Spring, by Vivaldi.
I suspect they are going out for a celebratory tea, tonight.
The Norn Iron squad have headed home. Back in February.
Wonder if there will be book bargains on Amazon on Black Friday?

Elle, you are right about The Avenue Goes to War, only it is a follow up to another book 'The Dreaming Suburbs' - neither of which I had heard of.

Apparently both were serialized by the BBC but unfortunately Amazon do not have the DVDs - Perhaps none were released yet.

I wonder how many other books by R. Delderfield I don't know about - I'll have to google for the info.

Can't really contribute to discussions about any of the books mentioned in recent posts, as I haven't read them, but thought I'd see if there are any other Rebus fans out there (expect their would be on a Crossword forum!).

I've got all the books in the series in talking book format (I have to listen while driving or running, otherwise I fall asleep) and love to listen to them in sequence over and over again.

Hi, Rusty!
Miss La Bamba, it is , then! Didn't Ritchie Valens sing a song entitled that?
So, is there going to be another Black Friday? I didn't realise this was an annual event? and there was a black Monday following on, wasn't there?
I remember that I didn't believe you last year when you told me that, and thought you were kidding me!
I got a very good bargain and bought that set of Jane Austen books for half price, do you remember?
I've recently re- read all her books! and thoroughly enjoyed them yet again.
So do you know when Black Friday will be? maybe I should off ordering any books until then?
I've just given my dog her last biscuit for the night - she hasn't to eat after 9 pm because of the possibility of surgery tomorrow.
