oh well, I am miles off the track there! Don't know why I was convinced it started in June!

You are right, let's enjoy the Summer first!

It seems incredible that Midsummer's Day is nearly upon us!
I'm glad that the tennis and athletics are starting up - I don't play tennis any more- apart from with the grandkids - but love watching it on the television. Might even make it to Wimbledon this year to see it live.

Wimbledon starts on June 29th.
I've never been butI'm sure if I got tickets I'd end up at a match of shrieking women. I can't bear it, think it's totally unnecessary and that it should be penalised.
I've been watching the French Open (on TV!). I'll miss Andy tomorrow as we have aparty to go to. I don't think he'll beat Djokovic on clay though.

No, I don't think Andy will beat Djokovic either, rossim.
What do you think of the other sem-final - Tsonga v, Wawrinka ? I've never seen Wawrinka play, so don't know how to call it? Tsonga is a good soild player.

I'm not so sure about that one.
Wawrinka is seeded the highest but it doesn't take the surface into consideration. It should be a good match.

Yes, Elle, Christmas goods on sale.
There is/was a Christmas Shop over in St Andrews.
Miss B&Q (part timer there) is Miss L Plate's big sister, sometimes known as Miss Orlando.
You don't like black pudding? !!!
The Stornoway is the best in Scotland.
I know if timing valves get out of synch they can wreck your engine.
Jazzgirl, I did not know they were on Facebook.
But, there are trees of all sizes and varying colours in different plantations? Is that what you saw?
I did not know what a panini was and asked the very nice lady who was serving, what one was, and in the process mortified my granddaughter!
Ah, well, such is life!

Hey, Rusty!
Does Miss B&Q aka Miss Orlando work part time at B&Q Q then? (otherwise why the nickname?)
It's good the girls work their way though Uni - even tho' they don't need to pay tuition fees. Our younger daughter has had quite a lot of money to pay off for fees and accommodation etc after she finished at Manchester Uni. Elder daughter was lucky enough to catch the last year of grants and was also sponsored by Racal. I think It's very hard for students these days.
Don't worry, you're not alone in not recognising some of these foreign breads.... I had to ask my friend (sotto voce!) what a ciabatta was!
I had to laugh though at your granddaughter's street cred being put in jeopardy!
Haven't you been having this lovely warm weather? I read some of your comments earlier. It's been beautiful here- and supposed to be the same tomorrow .
I hope the car is fixable- we need it to get about in looking for another one!

Hi all, I just noticed Rossim's comment about shrieking women and couldn't resist responding. Years ago I remember Wimbledon being serene. I loved it, - think Chrissie Evert, Virginia Wade and then somewhere along the line, I can't work out when, people started grunting and shrieking and it drove me nuts! I suppose I could watch it with the sound off but the gentle sounds of the game used to be a part of the enjoyment. I'm quite easy-going about most things but I'm allergic to grunting tennis! I find myself tutting at the television, anticipating the next grunt and then telling the TV off when it happens! That's not good is it?
