Good morning, Rusty!
It is a bright sunny morning at the moment, but feeling like 2C.
Good brisk walking weather!
I am only just home....I overslept, and was later than usual going out.
I have no plans for today, other than trying to "organise" Christmas!
I shall take your advice and see what bright ideas I can find online, for my granddaughter and youngest grandson.......
We now have an Argos in Sainsburys, which will be useful.
I have the presents for the other four grandkids all sorted!
Right, coffee first, though.......

Good morning, Elle!
Fine frosty morning here.
I had a walk on the nature trail earlier.
Had it all to myself!
I bought Jazz apples today.
I usually buy pears but they are just awful in ASDA.
Like bricks and tasteless.
Which apples do you buy?
I have no plans today.
Willie Mullins has a runner at Cheltenham, but I don't know the jockey.
I'll watch the race, though.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, good to get out early in the day for a walk!
Morning is much the best time!
I have never heard of Jazz apples?
That is a new brand to me....but then I only ever eat Granny Smith's .......and I only like those when they are at their greenest and tartiest!
But my husband likes red apples...and I think the ones we have at present are Pink Ladies...would that be right?
Now...some good news!
We had a letter today from the Euro Car Parks.......cancelling our fine!!!!
Alleluia!
I wonder how many folk misguidedly paid theirs, though?

Hello, Elle!
I have seen Jazz apples before but this is the first time I bought them.
Only reason I bought them was they are in a pack of 4, rather than 6, which is what the other brands were.
Yes, Pink Ladies are tasty, and I like Braeburns, too.
Good result with the Euro Car Parks.
I think most folk would know they are not "proper" fines, and not pay up.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I like grapes , too.
Grapes and / or a Granny Smith's apple, with a chunk of cheddar cheese are good fodder for dealing with the crossword, armed also with a cup of coffee!
Yes, good to have the ECP off my back! Not that I ever had any intention of paying them money.
I am disgusted, though, that the Manager of the Toby Carvery involved, did not have the courtesy to reply to my letter.
We shall not be going to that branch of the restaurant, near our daughter's, again!
The staff at our local Carvery here are so pleasant and friendly, why indeed go elsewhere!
I think I have decided on two games for the grandchildren....
We can probably collect them at our local Argos in Sainsburys, so will probably try there on Monday.
Another potential tick on my list!

Hello, Elle!
I like cheese, too.
You should tell the Toby Carvery of your experience and why you won't return!
Is it, you order online from Argos and collect items from Sainsbury?
That sounds a good system.
Mikaela Shiffrin was third in the Super-G at St. Moritz today.
One second covered the first ten racers.
Sofia Goggia won and Federica Brignone was second.
Willie's horse came third at Cheltenham.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I think you can order online from Argos, and either have the item delivered to your home , for a delivery charge - or collect it free from the Sainsburys of your choice.
However, in our Sainsburys, we actually have a branch of Argos within the Sainsburys store, where you can order direct........the goods are kept on the premises......and handed over to you there and then,
So I am intending to follow this last option.
The system works well; I bought a clothes airer there recently.
You are having a good day with both skiing and horse -racing to watch.
Did you bet on Willie's horse?

Hello, Elle!
Seems a good system that Argos have.
Wonder if they still have a catalogue?
I missed the skiing!
It's on at a different time each week.
Yes, I had a profitable interest in Willie's horse.
I had no idea who the jockey was, but he rode an excellent race.
The horse came third, first time out this season, and should come on for the run.
I saw reported on the BBC News website that Peter Snell, the great New Zealand runner, has died.
He was a smashing runner!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, Argos do still have a catalogue......leastways, there was a Spring and Summer 2019 one; I don't have the Autumn and Winter version here.
I hadn't seen the news that Peter Snell has died.
He was a middle -distance runner, wasn't he?
He must be close on 80?
Well done on your horseracing win!

Sainsbury's own Argos.

I no longer deal with them. A while back one of their lorries parked right across my drive for 30 minutes and would not move, saying his time had run out. He could have stopped 5 metres down the road and caused fewer problems. In any case it is dangerous to park there, crest of a hill.

I had endless problems with a Sony camera- could not get it past the second screen (chose language). Persuaded to order another and accept a gift token, after which (when the second one failed the same way) I could not get a refund. Part of the conversation-
"You can't return it anyway, there are finger marks on the screen"
(I wipe them off with a handy J cloth)
"You shouldn't have done that, there are chemicals in the cloth".
Nope, not going back.
