Hi, Rusty!
I agree.......that does sound a tad strange?
I wonder what has happened to the usual listing of events?
And I have never heard of a "high school" race in the DL?
I am not enjoying the BBC highlights anyway...they are very badly designed.
It is all far too rushed in order to fit it into a one hour time slot.....
For instance, we rarely find out who is competing, until we are told, at the end, who has won.......and then we usually only learn the first three placings.
A very poor effort on the part of the BBC.
I used to enjoy the DLs, but now they are ruined by this rushed , far too compressed, transmission.
And I also have to wait until Monday!

Good morning, Elle!
Seems warm today!
Not been out yet.
This is the programme for "Eugene".
You will probably spot oddities and omissions, yourself.
Hope this one works!

https://eugene.diamondleague.com/program-results-eugene/

Now, the thing is.....it is not being held at Eugene, Oregon!
They have moved the meeting to Stanford, California.
The track at Eugene is being overhauled, before the US Olympic trials are held there, and the World Championships in 2021, I think it is.
Hope someone has told the BBC!
I am just heading out to the shop for my paper, etc.
So..."step we gaily...!"

Good morning, Rusty!
",,,,,,,,,,heel for heel, toe for toe, arm in arm and row in row......."
A lovely day for Mairi's wedding!
It is very warm here, 24C whilst we were out walking the dog, and creeping up all the time!
I think we are supposed to hit 32C.
Thank you for the Eugene aka Stanford (!) Diamond League schedule.
Yes, how odd!
I noticed that there is no Women's Pole Vault or Hurdles, and, as you said, no Long Jump.
And the men have neither long nor high jumps!
And what, pray, is the difference between a "High school" 100m run, and an "ordinary" 100m?
' "Curiouser and curiouser", cried Alice! '

Hello, Elle!
It is a warm pleasant 20C here.
That will do for me!
I don't think there is any triple jumps at Stanford.
It will be great for the high school kids who are competing in their own events, I suppose, rubbing shoulders with likes of Asher-Smith, Schippers, and Muir etc.
I presume it's high school kids, anyway!
Finished my puzzle earlier.
An old favourite of mine is 11d !

Hi, Rusty!
20C sounds good to me!
It is becoming oppressively warm outside here, but still quite cool and pleasant indoors, so that is where I am staying.
Do you know, it hadn't occurred to me that a "High school" race might actually be for children?!!
How dim, am I ?
Yes, I am sure that you must be right......
I was simply thinking it a newfangled race idea!
And wondering what it might comprise?
Oh dear!
Perhaps I should go back to bed?
I am going to make a coffee (I obviously need it) and take a quick look at the crossword before the tennis starts!
I am rooting for Angie Kerber to win!!
Are you going to watch?

Good afternoon, Elle!
I suppose that's what a high school race is, anyway!
I would not think so much children, though, Elle, as teenagers?
I may see a bit of the tennis, but Willie Mullins has a runner at Newcastle that I'd like to see.
And there is the women's football, two games today.
I shall dip in and out, i think.

Hi, Rusty!
You will have missed the tennis!
It was all over with by a quarter past two!
Karolina Pliskova was a worthy winner in two straight sets.
I believe that she didn't drop a set throughout the tournament.
Angie Kerber will hope though to defend her last year's title at Wimbledon.
I hope you enjoy the football.....and that your horse runs well......
And speaking of horses....!
Yes, I liked 11d: Desert Orchid.
Although at first, I wasn't thinking of an equine mount, so much as a hilly one!
Unbearably hot outside!

Hello, Elle!
Heavy rain shower and thunder here.
Still warm, too.
Yes, I missed the tennis!
Be difficult to miss next week, though.
I watched Netherlands and Italy at football.
And Germany play Sweden later.
I am looking forward to that one.
Not seen those teams so far.
11d, Dessie was a smashing horse.
One of the best!

Good evening, Rusty!
Still brilliant sunshine here!
My husband and the dog have braved the garden.....
I tried it for a little while, but even sitting in the shade under a tree proved too much for me!
I am back indoors with the fan on!
My daughter is taking part in a 5 km "Race for Life" tomorrow, in aid of Cancer Research:UK.
I hope it will be cooler for the participants ...I think they are allowed to walk, though, so that is always an alternative, if the heat proves too much.
And hopefully the temp. is supposed to reach only 24C tomorrow!
So fingers crossed!

Hello, Elle!
The rain and rolling thunder have passed.
It affected my Sky Digibox though.
My picture turned a very faded, muzzy pink, colour.
I switched everything off for five minutes and it is fine, now.
Saw Lassie and the chicks getting very drookit on the nest!
I see in the football the players are getting cooling breaks each half.
Very sensible.
