A Very Good morning to you, Rusty!
A pleasant morning... it seems to be another reasonably "fresh" day.
I think we are being very fortunate here, compared with many places.
Tomorrow is supposedly our highest temperature yet this Summer..... 31C.
But only for a short space of time in the afternoon.
Sunday is supposedly back to a high of 24C...much more acceptable ( by me, anyway!)
I have a "free" day.....so will do a few jobs this morning, and hope to watch some tennis later....
Maybe fit in a dog walk, too!
How about you?

Good morning, Elle!
It was cloudy and cool all morning but now the sky is blue and the temperature is rising.
I was out doing a couple of chores.
Dropped of Miss L-B's leather travel bag at the saddler's for repairs, then visited the cemetery.
So....no more plans for today!

Hi, Rusty!
You have had a productive morning!
Isn't it weird that we have to take bags to be repaired at a Saddler's (you) or a Cobbler's (me)?
Why is there no "handbag repair shop"?!
I was expecting to see two women's Semi-Finals matches this afternoon......but Angie Kerber's opponent has pulled out due to an ankle injury , so Angie is through to the Final by default.
Karolina Pliskova and Kiki Bertens will battle it out for the other Finals place.
The Men's Singles Semis follow on from that match.
I have nearly finished my crossword......
I thought it a nice one today?

Hello, Elle!
I've just had a call from the saddler shop, saying the bag is ready to collect!
Miss L-B will be very pleased!
She needs it for her holiday soon.
Miss O and me are going to Pine cone on Monday.
That's her on summer holidays from today.
I have finished my puzzle, too!
I was ages getting 15a.
I knew Mary had a little lamb but it took ages to solve it.
Though in fairness, the definition was new to me, but I found it in Chambers.
Right....off to the saddler's!

Hi, Rusty!
That is a very quick repair?
I usually have to collect mine in a few days time, as the shop is always so busy.
Where is Miss L-B going for her holiday?
Is Miss O going away, too?
I always forget about the school holidays starting so early in Scotland.... our schools do not break up until July 23rd.
I think 15a: "little slam" is one of my favourite clues of the day!
I also like the somewhat topical one, considering I am watching the tennis, of 23a: "beforehand"!
4d: "nod"; and 20d: "Mahatma" are good ones, too!
Yes, a good puzzle!

Hello Elle, Rusty and chris?

I just had a look at the Tour's route - my goodness what a lot
of mountain stages! The Vosges, Massif Central, Pyrénées and
finally the Alpes! And we are supposed to have heat again in
July, and some thunderstorms too in between heat waves!

It will not be as hot as it is now for the first week, but sometime towards the end, (probably in the Alpes) temps should really rise again. Mind you the riders are quite used to this!

I am glad to see that, apart from Belgium, the Tour will remain in
France. (Selfishly!)

Here, over 40C in shade! I was up at 6 playing with the shutters,
closing those on the morning sunny side.
Went to market early - almost nobody there! I did not even have
to queue at my Cheese merchant!
Glad to say I had a lift back up as I was rather loaded, (melons, fruit, tomatoes etc are all heavy), thus my back was achy ..... and I got rather warm! A cool glass of water with a dash
of mint syrup was very welcome in my favourite Café!

I hope you cope with tomorrow's heat Elle - Still, at least it is only
going to last one day!

Hello, Elle!
A quick repair, indeed!
And he made a good job of it.
Miss L-B and Miss O are flying from Edinburgh to Newark, then to Orlando, Florida.
Then they go to California.
Not sure if New York is on their itinerary.
Yes, our schools finished at lunchtime today.
It's a bit cooler today.

Hello, Pigale!
I see you are having record heat in France!
Best stay inside, I think.
Yes, a Tour for the mountain goats, like Nibali etc.
I am looking forward to it....as usual!
Not long now.

Hi, Rusty!
That sounds like a great holiday that the Misses O and L-B have planned!
When do they leave ?
Is it just the two of them who are going?
You will certainly miss them whilst they are away!
Now, I "lost" the Eastbourne tennis!
I saw part of the Pliskova v Bertens match, but then had to disappear for a while....
When I came back...no tennis!
Yet my TV guide told me that it was being shown on BB2 all the afternoon?
I had been looking forward to seeing the Kyle Edmund match.
Nothing on the Red Button either.....
I wonder what happened?
All I got was the Hairy Bikers!

Hello, Pigale!
Quite honestly, I do not know how you are surviving!
I feel several degrees hotter every time I even THINK of your temperatures!!
Yes, as Rusty says, stay indoors, and keep as cool as you can....
What about your cats?
How are they faring in the heat?

Hello, Elle!
The girls don't go until 15 July.
As far as I know it's just the two of them.
Yes, I'll certainly miss them.
I looked for tennis, too, and there was none!
Not on EuroSport, so not sure why!
Never mind, from Monday there will be wall to wall tennis!
