Hello, Elle!
I'll watch the final tomorrow, I think!
Ash Barty is playing singles and doubles at Wimbledon.
Mixed doubles could be too much?
I looked up Laura.
She had an operation on her hip, and I think she is making progress.
No idea if she will get, or want, a wild card for Wimbledon.
Be good to see her back, though.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I too plan to watch the tennis Finals tomorrow, all being well.
I have seen some of the listed names for Wild cards for Wimbledon........
I don't think the lists are completed yet?
But Laura's name was not there.
Heather Watson is listed, though, and several other young Brits..... the Broadys and Katie Swann.
Dan Evans was refused, because of his previous drugs ban...I suppose a similar scenario to Maria Sharapova?

Hi, Rusty!
Are you about?
I hope all is okay at your end......?
Did you get the chance to watch the Men's Singles Final between Feliciano Lopez and Gilles Simon?
What a fantastic match! Wonderful tennis!
Lopez won....but both men equally deserved to do so.
And now Lopez has to go back on court to play the Doubles with Andy Murray....
Fingers crossed for them!

Hello, Elle!
I am about!
I watched some of the tennis and some of the football, and mended a puncture on La Bamba's bike!
I would like to see Lopez and Murray win.
They have been entertaining all week!

Hi, Rusty!
I have done very little that can be classified as "useful", all day!
I took the dog out early this morning, did the Everyman and the Sunday Times Cryptic crosswords......
And then devoted my entire time to the tennis!
You are one up on me by mending a puncture for Miss L-B!
I am still watching.......!

Good morning, Rusty!
A dull and muggy day here.....the temperature was already in the lower twenties at 8am.
Well, my (lengthy) tennis viewing of yesterday was well rewarded!
It was good to see Andy Murray playing well, and seemingly free from pain......and great for Feliciano Lopez to have a second triumph in also taking the Doubles title.
Well done to both!
We had fun and games last night, frolicking over the roof tops at midnight......!
Our neighbours from four doors away were again knocking on our door at twenty minutes to twelve........
Yes, their cat was back on our roof!
Eventually he was lured to the edge...and then carried down to the safety of terra firma!
Till the next time!
Any plans for today?

Good morning, Elle!
Bit wet and breezy here.
Nice and fresh!
Lopez and Murray did very well!
Very entertaining from both of them.
Murray is pondering the singles in the US Open, now!
I hope he chooses one of the lesser known girls to partner at Wimbledon.
You should be careful on roofs, Elle!
You have to know what you are doing.
I am home now.
Was out a-doing earlier.
Was very surprised to find Tesco fresh food counters are only open from Wednesdays to Saturdays, in the large store I visited.
It was like the Mary Celeste in the fresh food aisles!

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, we have the beginnings of rain....I hope it freshens the atmosphere!
Yes, all seems to be going well for Andy.
I hope he is sensible..."softly, softly, catchee monkey", as the saying goes.....
He needs to take it slowly , and ease his way back into the swing of things.
But I am sure that he has lots of expert advice on hand to guide him.
It was actually the men folk who were up on the roof, Rusty...….
we "weaker vessels" (!) were standing at the bottom of the ladder, "wringing our hands".......
Well, we might have been, had we known what that actually entailed!
I always thought it sounded dramatic though...so thought I would throw it in!
How come you deserted Asda for Tesco today?

Hello, Elle!
Rain is getting heavier!
Andy needs to ca' canny, as we say up here!
But so far, so good.
You are wise to stay off the roof!
Let more experienced folk do it.
I have not deserted Asda, just I was in another part of town and I like that particular branch of Tesco, except for the forlorn fresh counter aisles!
I am posting this from my tablet, and so far this day have not been required to tick reCaptcha photos.
Hope it continues!

Hi, Rusty!
The rain only lasted five minutes......
I believe we have thunderstorms forecast for tonight and tomorrow though.
Recaptcha has been quieter on here, too, today.....
I got away with only two ticks, when answering crossword queries earlier!
Have you done your crossword?
I thought it quite a reasonable one today?
But couldn't parse 19a: Calm period European enters with deference to fellow European (9)
I have "peacetime" = calm period" (def)
This fits with the crossers, but I cannot parse the rest, please?
