Yes, Paint would do, but Word works too (and lots of others)

Hello, Elle!
My friendly AA man rescued me!
I don't think there was much tennis today, if any.
It was raining.
If you download another email client, all your contacts and emails will turn up on the new one, as soon as you enter your email address/es, and you won't have to do all this saving and writing, etc.
Try it?
Outlook's problem is all the different systems folk use.
Different browsers, folk using tablets or 'phones, etc.
There could be different fixes for them all, possibly.
Could be why they need screen shots?
I was in the Google Play Store earlier, and looked at Outlook, and the reviews for it are awful!
How are you and the fire hydrants getting on today?

Chris, I am sorry, but I haven't a clue what you , Outlook and Google are talking about!
I don't know even what "Paint" is ?

( The way I know to open paint is to lever the lid off the tin with a screwdriver!)

I have tried pressing the Print Screen key when I have the Inbox page on the screen...nothing seems to happen?
But as I don't know what then to "open"..... I am stuck anyway!

Please don't feel obliged to pursue this...….I can just tell Outlook I don't know how to do it!
I am utterly cheesed off!

Hi elle
Do you have Word (or any other wordprocessor?). If so, get on screen what you want to copy, press "prt sc" (or whatever yours is called), then open the wordprocessor. Get a blank page, then paste your screenshot - the easiest way is to hold down Control (ctrl) and press V (the key, that is).

Hi, Rusty!
Well done the AA!
Rusty, I am reluctant to try anything "new" as I do not know what I am doing!
I do not understand how to download another email client, nor would I know which one to choose?
I require a similar set up to the one I already had...I want Inbox, Drafts, Junk box, Sent Items and Deleted Items boxes, plus also the facility to create additional subfolders of my own.
I really liked Hotmail, as it worked very well for me.
But since Outlook took it over, the format is gradually being changed beyond recognition ...and this last update is really the straw that broke the camel's back!!!
I am not at present using an "email client"... I access my email site through my Web Browser?
I should prefer to wait for my daughter to help me by being here in person, but she is extremely busy at work, and then of course she has the children to feed, bath and get to bed when she gets home.
She has kindly offered to help me when she can...but it may not be for a while, as she does not live locally.
We shall not speak of fire hydrants/ buses / telegraph poles/ and especially of shop fronts!

Hello, Chris !
Alleluia....I have done it!
I opened up Word, and did exactly as you said.
Thank you so much!

Hello, Elle!
I understand. I am not good with computers, too.
Before I got my Chromebook, I had a Dell Windows 7 laptop.
Occasionally, if I had a problem, I would take it to my local repair shop, and ask for advice.
I always got good advice, or had it fixed there and then, and normally there was no charge.
Do you have a local repair shop you could ask about your Outlook problems, and missing folders?
A bit of expert knowledge would not go amiss?
It's a pity your daughter is not nearer at hand, though.

Hi, Rusty!
The main problem, Rusty, is that the boxes and folders are, according to Microsoft, missing as part of Outlook's new design
They have NOT gone missing by accident.
It is a deliberate "new" action.
We even had a notice posted on the email site , saying that Outlook hoped everyone would like the new format!
Unfortunately, everyone - or at least many - didn't !
Hence all the complaints in the "Help" section!
The Microsoft staff member to whom I spoke originally , when I rang to report the problem, said that only an Outlook Service Engineer would be able to help resolve the matter.
There is nothing wrong with the computer itself.
I am going to finish my back ups - about another half hour's work - "just in case"!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, they may have gone missing, but could well be in your computer somewhere, but you do not know where, but an expert would know how to find them?
I would doubt Outlook would delete folders without warning.
I suspect they are in your computer somewhere.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I take your point and you may well be right.
I really do appreciate your input and the time you are taking to help.
However, our local computer shop, whilst very efficient, is also very expensive.
And I cannot afford to pursue this if I have to pay for it!
I shall wait to see if I get anywhere with Outlook - I am not expecting to do so, though.
Otherwise , I shall just cut my losses and look for a viable alternative.
I have now finished my back ups - all safely recorded on paper!
So I am away to my bed!
As Scarlett O'Hara said in "Gone with the Wind"......
"After all......tomorrow is another day!"
