Hi, Rusty!
Actually, I am feeling less stressed than I had envisaged about midnight last night!
We have spent the day cleaning....
All the rubble is swept up, bagged up and outside.
The dining chair seat cushions are a write off, so they too are in a rubbish bag.
It will be a visit to Ikea at some stage to replace them.
The dining table , which is solid oak, is still very wet..... I think the surface may need re-polishing professionally, but we shall see.
The table took the brunt of the cascading water.
The carpet is soaked......but I think I have heard of a drying machine for such circumstances?
I shall look into that.
As the carpet is fitted, we do not want to take it up, as it may never go down again.....
But the leak is fixed, the bath is functional again; the electrics are fine; and all that now remains to fix is the ceiling.
It seems manageable!
The plan is to ask the builders to call round when convenient to take a look at the damage, and give us an estimate to send to the Insurance company.
The repair work, though, will presumably have to wait until the woodwork has dried out?
I am way to my bed soon....before I fall down from exhaustion!
I only had three hours sleep last night!
