Good evening, Elle!
That is a shame for the person who died on the line.
The train may be held up for quite some time, I think.
I did not know 15, but it is fairly simple.
The "elderly wife" is "grey w" with "cake" cooked/anagram.
"Greywacke" is a type of stone, apparently!
The other one, the town is "Worms". I have vaguely heard of it.
I think, not sure, that "wood" sounds like "would",
around "scrub", so you were on the way to nailing it.
Hope that helps?
Watching the cycling just now and awaiting my son!

Hi, Rusty!
I haven't heard further from my daughter... yes, the railway announcer said it was likely to be a very long wait.
A sad day for someone......and his/ her family.
I have never heard of "greywacke"?
But I follow your reasoning, thank you!
As for 24a......it took me some time to see that "would" might mean "used to"?
And I never thought of "The Diet of Worms"!
Ah well, I live and learn!
I hope you and your son are having a good natter!

Thank you , Chris and Cerasus.
Explanations were beyond me!

Hello, Elle!
Has your daughter managed to get home?
Yes, a tragedy has fallen on some family, poor souls.
"Greywacke" is new to me, Elle, too.
I have not heard of the "Diet of Worms", but Worms was mentioned in the book I read about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose.
Every day is a schoolday, Elle! Always learning!
Had a grand time with my son.
We were watching the cycling.
Great night for Australia!

Now, here is a piece I have just came across involving two of my heroes.
Chris Hoy goes to meet Kristina Vogel.

Hi, Rusty!
I don't know when , or how, my daughter managed to get home.
I texted her earlier to check all was okay, but she has not replied.
( She keeps her phone on 'Silent', so most probably has not yet seen the text)
Yes, I remember your telling me all about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose , but cannot remember Worms?
That was a lovely, heartfelt article by Chris Hoy , telling about Kristina.
I was very impressed both by Kristina's bravery and by Chris' sympathy and understanding.
"From desperation to inspiration" was a good way of describing her life as it is now.
You are away out again tomorrow, aren't you?
With which granddaughter?

Hello, Elle!
I am sure your daughter will contact you when she sees your text message.
As far as I remember one member of the White Rose came from Worms.
Worms was mentioned, I remember that.
Yes, a good article by Chris Hoy and Kristina is amazing.
This is her getting back into her wheelchair.

I am being collected by Miss ATW tomorrow.
She may have news for me, I suspect!
But no La Bamba next week.
She is going on a three day placement from Uni.

Good morning, Rusty!
Damp today....milder , but not likely to warm up much more than now.
I hope your weather is better?
I have just watched Kristina getting back into her wheelchair.....
She is much to be admired for her courage and cheerfulness.
You think Miss ATW may have news for you?
Are you meaning something "big"?
Like a new job, an exotic holiday, , or maybe she is getting married?
I hope it is exciting news!
You will miss an outing with Miss L-B next week...where is her work placement?
I am away out myself in about an hour.... the dog is off to the Groomer for a bath and a trim!
Don't forget there is Athletics today!
I have set the recorder for the parts that I shall miss.

Hello, Elle!
Cloudy and cooler here.
Kristina is a battler.
I saw a video of her in tears, though, but I won't post it.
It's a bit sad.
Miss ATW texted to me to go out today.
She should be at work, but says she is going to a gym, then collecting me.
So, why is she not working?
I'll find out soon!
Miss L-B is going to Blairgowrie on placement.
One of Miss O's placements was at Blair, too!
Yes, athletics championships this weekend.
I'll be switching back and forward between it and cycling, and the downhill skiing tomorrow!
It's all go!
I have done the puzzle.
Was a bit of a slog.
The setter and me did not get on!
Still half of an answer to parse.....!

Hi, Rusty!
I am home again for the time being...although need to go out again later, to collect the dog at 1.30pm from the Groomers.
I have missed most of this morning's Athletics, although I have the television on now.
I am recording it though, so will watch the earlier section on my return.
I'm afraid that the crossword is taking second place...I am not paying it a lot of attention, altho I am about halfway through.
I'm doing not too badly so far......
How was Miss ATW?
I hope you both had a good time?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Yes, put your crossword puzzle away and enjoy the athletics!
We had a good time and no news!
She is off today because she was in Munich, Germany, last week, on business and is due time off.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I had thought Miss ATW was going to tell you some really exciting news!
But I'm sure, never -the less, that you had a lot to talk about!
Well, we now have a clean, and nicely trimmed dog......
The groomer does a good job!
The dog seems pleased with herself....she obviously appreciates the trim.
I had let her coat become somewhat shaggy, because the weather was just so cold!
But she does not particularly like being "clean"!
She will no doubt rush to find something extremely disgusting in which to roll, when we go out walking tomorrow!
I am half watching this morning's recording of the athletics......and half finishing the crossword.....
Did you manage to solve the clue that you had only half parsed?
