Rusty, I've just done the Times crossword and spotted 'your' clue. I really liked 26 A - 'Travellers' aid in electronic Scottish Bible?'. I like clues with an element of fun!

Today's little helping of spam - the 'puppies for sale' didn't get to hang around for long.

Hello, Malone!
This clue of "mine" will be an attempt to stop me moaning about "Londonisms!"
I agree about 26a. It's a smashing clue!
Well done, the setter!
No, it is gratifying to see the huge reduction in spam.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am home again - here for the day now!
The rain has stopped, although I fear it is only a temporary break.
And the wind has died down somewhat.
We had an enjoyable lunch at the Toby Carvery.
I am sorry if I did not make it clear about the earlier spammer on this thread.
He/ she showed up as the last person posting on the individual PCT page.
But there was no record of his posting under the PCT title heading on the general page.
There should have been both, at that point , as one else had posted in between.
Is that any clearer?
I just wondered how the spammer had managed to by-pass the general page?
What sort of day have you had?
Anything nice happen?

Good afternoon, Elle!
Rain off here, too, but several flood warnings in place.
You seem to like the Toby Carvery!
No, I still do not understand, Elle.
It is a bit convoluted for me, I'm afraid!
I have been in since mid morning.
Just read my papers and started filling in next years diary with 'phone numbers and important details (to me) of stuff, I may need.
Apart from eating an apple turnover, nothing else nice happened!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, the Carvery is a good deal.... and newly decorated too, so very smart!
There is a choice of roast beef, glazed gammon , pork or turkey ( plus lamb at the weekends)
One can mix and match if preferred.
The meat is served by the chef...but one helps ones self to the vegetables - always a goodly variety.
Today, for instance I chose roast spuds, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, sprouts, and parsnips to have with my roast beef.
There were also creamed potatoes , garden peas , carrots , and red cabbage on offer.
Plus the pick of four gravies, apple sauce , cranberries , and grained mustards.
Delicious!
I shall not need dinner!
You are early with your new diary..... I use a large wall calendar, but have not yet bought one for 2019!
Is your son coming visiting?

Hello, Elle!
Your Carvery sounds good.
No, this is usually when I put info in new diary.
I bought it months ago.
I put 'phone numbers, birthdays, various sites and passwords etc in it.
Yes, I think my son will be here around six.

Hi, Rusty!
I waited a while before replying as I knew that your son would be with you....and you would be enjoying a good chat.
I hope that the windy weather has not affected either of your sons in their getting to and from work?
Or Miss O to school?
All seems to have calmed down here......
I haven't even looked at today's crossword....I just didn't have the time!
I got as far as getting a pencil to hand to make a start this evening, when my elder daughter rang...
So we chatted instead!
A day of rest from puzzles!
I shall now go and watch "Eggheads".....

Good evening, Elle!
All good here.
Weather has calmed down.
Everyone managed to drive to work etc.
My son was here and that was good!
No puzzle for you today!
A good one in Times, too.

Hi, Rusty!
That's good you had a good time with your son.
I have been catching up with my emails.
I have had an "Old Girls" letter, telling me that my old school has been nominated for a 2019 prestigious TES Independent Schools Award for the best Senior School of the year.
The school is only one of two Northern schools amongst the eight nominations throughout the country.
Well done them!
I have been indulging in a walk down Nostalgia Lane......!
I shall not count how many years it was, since I was a pupil in the Sixth Form!
A coffee and a ginger biscuit to celebrate?

Hello, Elle!
Your old school has done very well!
It appears to be a prestigious award.
Let's hope they do well in the award competition, if that's what it is?
My old school was knocked down years ago.
I got as far as half way through third year, then out!
Yes, I'd say you deserve a ginger biscuit to celebrate!
And I'll have a cheesey oatcake!
