My friends from Norn Iron have landed.
They were on an early boat from Belfast.
They are now in Edinburgh.
They are booked on the spooky underground tour of Old Edinburgh shortly.
I think it is supposed to be very good!
They told me they were in a restaurant in Chambers Street and I told them who the street was named after.
Sir William Chambers, one of the brothers of Dictionary fame.
They like Edinburgh!

I noticed that you did not take part in Clueless, you had a good idea, but it is hard to develop when you are not well. I never enter as I work on Tuesdays and when I look at it, lots of good ideas have been clued.

I see that you mentioned a time difference. I am guessing you are in France from your name, which reminds me of the time I was in Paris many years ago.

Pigale- skyewalker said he was having a two week holiday in Crete (with his daughter looking after Skye). We have chatted before about this, as it is one of my most favourite places. Or was.

Yes, I rather fancy the image of myself battling on against an onslaught (a tide) of books.....just like the painters of the Forth Bridge have to go back to the beginning to start all over again!
I may be wrong about 18d, Rusty...that was only my interpretation of it....perhaps the compiler meant something more subtle that is eluding us both?
I hadn't realised that your Norn Iron friends were arriving today.
I knew that they would be here at the weekend, because you had mentioned that Miss L-B would be working then, and unable to come with you all to the Pine Cone.
I hope they are enjoying their time in Edinburgh?
I have a feeling , though I could be misremembering, that Lin and family went on the underground tour of Old Edinburgh, when she was over here from Spain.
Edinburgh is yet another place that I have never visited!

ago now, basically because my parents were getting elderly; We
stayed here afterwards. I miss England in some ways, but I would
stand to lose too much in social benefit etc if I went to live abroad once more. And now that hubby has departed, I might as well
stay put ........
My close British friends have all bought some small property or
other in my village so we can still see each other regularly - isn't
that great?

My granddaughters have done the dungeons tour of Edinburgh and thought it was great!
I like Edinburgh and "untravelled" seems a fine word!
My son was here earlier and we had a nice chat and watched the snooker.

I have just been reading about his visit to ""The Ship" - a pub in Dunwich (Suffolk)
We have stayed several times in the house next door to "The Ship"!

It is a lovely day here, bright blue sky and sunshine...but only 2C.
We had to walk very quickly to keep warm!
What were you doing out at the post box so late last night?
We only have one collection a day, and that is at 5.30 pm.
And it certainly isn't safe here to go out late at night!
And speaking of the post......I am trying to track my parcels' delivery times, so that I do not have to spend all day awaiting them.......

We had only 4 (very polite) groups, but I encountered a downside today - when I got back from collecting the paper I had to spend about 10 minutes scraping a big piece of chewing gum off a shoe!
