Sorry for delay - I was watching Le Tour !

No, for some reason my parents did not plant a greengage plum tree, just mirabelles; have plenty of pears to look forward to later on, williams, conference, and two other type (one reddish one) but I don't know the name.

Could plant a greengage though, I usually plant one tree every year on the 4th November.- just a custom but I have so many trees already that the leaves in Autumn are a nightmare!

Hi, Rossim!
I've been out - only recently returned.
I am about to watch the Davis Cup NOW - I recorded it - so please don't tell me the results!

Hi Rossim and Doglet!
I've just finished watching the recording of the tennis - have you watched it yet, Doglet? I won't make any further comment - not on the score anyway - in case you have yet to see it?
But didn't you find all that drumming by the French very annoying? I know they were quiet once play started but it was very intrusive non- the -less.
They even did it between points whilst the players were still on court. I was rather surprised that it was allowed?
I ended up watching with the sound turned off because the persistent drumming was doing my head in - Goodness knows what it must have been like for people sitting near the drummer!

I didn't have the sound up very high but agree with you that the drumming was irritating.

Morning Doglet,

It still has not rained here, apart from a small shower that only made the atmosphere feel more humid. Everything is very dry and many cereal fields are still going up in flames - so sad for the farmers.

To my mind, there is no age limit to plant a tree, they are the future of the planet, and I personally do not plant them just for myself but almost as much (if not more) for future generations.

Yannick Noah did a song a few years ago called 'Aux arbres citoyens' in which he encouraged (along with the Green Party (politics), everyone to plant a tree if they could. Many schools encouraged their pupils to do so by showing them how to plant a tree in the play ground of their college. I thought that good! no?
