Hi Pigale
Freddy is an Aire dale and is very handsome but very dim,we have had them for 30 years and he really is brainless for a terrier but his temperament is very good and he is very easygoing unlike his companion she is small terrier who thinks she is a fighting dog and rules poor Freddy, she has very little effect on the cats as they are old hands with dogs,I think I shall spend the evening with a very large drink in a dark roomHave a good weekend

Hi Kenyatta,

How has your Cricket day been, after yesterday's disappointment ?

The Tour had particularly grandiose scenery today and we even saw a vulture - a change after seeing two eagles in the Pyrenees.

The stage was won by a South African rider, brillikant for the team since it is Mandala day ! But Froome is still in yellow with 3mn plus to spare - if he does not collapse in the Alps, he is our winner !

Hello Therogue and ChrisE,

Have you two managed to see some of the race today? Or are you working as well on Saturdays?

Hi Pigale
Caught a glimpse of Tour and saw the eagle so I was very pleased. Weather is very hot already but must finish Cherry picking before the birds take them all.Freddy won a rosette but shredded it on the way home and Honey won the most amazing ears as hers are huge bat like ones,so every one was happy.

Morning Doglet,

Glad your dogs both being winners - you must be proud!
Does Freddy like shredding things ? I read a bit about airedales on google yesterday because I felt I knew very little about their character; it sounds that they can be lovely but slightly stubborn at times ...is this true of your two?

I am also glad you caught some of the Tour yesterday, it was a particularly breathtaking scenery, once again very wild.

Weather hot - we had some storms around us last night but it has not really cleared the air; we lost a few degrees and it is only 27C at present - early in the day yet.

How is the cricket going ? Can't tune in on Radio 4 at present.

hi pigale
Freddy shreds everything we have to have a mail bx on the wall to prevent him getting to the letters,Yes they are very stubborn trying to make a dog who weighs over 5 stones do anything is a losing battle, they are used in the US as gun dogs and were used in the army as guard dogs to Honey is a small mongrel terrier who came from a rescue centre and has attitude. We dont speak about the cricket in our house at the moment, as we are back to the usual poor score, but have athletics from Monaco to watch. Hope you have had a good weekend

I sympathise with the last Elle comment. I have ignored this thread, clearly understanding its subject matter and only looked in today out of curiosity. It would only be a nuisance if it appeared to be a crossword related thread.
I did in fact have a polite moan a couple of years back to the 'Radio Times' solvers that at times the site was overloaded with personal comments and it meant ploughing through them to find Xword help. But clearly there could be no such complaint in this case.

Week-end good so far!

While you are picking cherries, I should start picking Mirabelle plums - only problem this year, they are not very juicy because of lack of rain. Good for Jam or putting in alcohol, but not quite as gorgeous as usual when eaten as fresh fruit, though very sweet.
