Pigale, that is exactly what I thought.
A lovely voice coming from a big warm friendly man.
Always smiling, too.
He was a favourite of mine years ago, when he played tennis.

Hi, Rusty!
Try this
www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6Vqp6UveIU
Bahrami & Leconte vs McNamara & Mcnamee
I couldn't find a video of Bahrami playing doubles wth Yannick Noah but I know he did in the late 1990s.
Now I know you're only 'taking the mickey' when you say you could get to like Djokovic......
Btw, I didn't know that Yannick Noah Sang?
What are you reading now? Have you started your book on Father Flanagan yet?
I'm reading one of Patriica Corwell's latest books - she writes about a forensic pathologist called Kay Scarpetta - a Chief Medical examiner, and her cases.
Fiction, so it definitely wouldn't appeal to you - but I'm enjoying it.
I hope your friends have a good journey back to Norn Iron, and that things have quietened down by the time they get home to Belfast.

Elle, me? Take the Mickey?
Assuredly not!
I came across a clip of our Novak when he HIT a ballgirl.
Completely accidental! He gave her a wee hug and all was well!
Yannick is a super singer. I saw a clip of him walking along a beach singing. So relaxed. He is a natural!
I will watch your clip later. I have downloaded a calendar and am trying to set it up.
I have a date with Miss L Plate tomorrow, best place it in the calendar.
Not reading today.
My friends will be landing shortly at Belfast...so they will.
Not so quiet. A senior policeman has had an ear torn off, and a very senior Orangeman has been charged with attempted murder. They say he deliberately drove into pedestrians and a 16 year old girl is very badly hurt.
She was trapped under a car and folk had to lift the car to free her. Bad craic!
Hope it settles down. We have this nonsense every year.
Pity we can't invent a time travel machine to send them back to 1690 where they belong!

At least there weren't any cars in 1690. Or not when I last looked.

Cake has been in fridge, cut (luckily it was cooked properly) and pasted through and all over with butter cream. Cholesterol city. Just the fondant and decoration to do now.

Rusty, no wonder your friends thought they would leave the country for a while! It's amazing that all this violence continues so many years on from the Battle of the Boyne!
I cannot imagine having this self same scenario recur year after year. Does relative 'peace' reign in between whiles?
Why cannot folk "live and let live".....?
How old were you when you and your family moved to Scotland? Did you go to school in Donegal or in Dundee?
We've had a very wet evening, although it's dry again now. Supposedly damp in the early morning with sunny periods later. We shall see......

Is the birthday lady having a party, Ros?
Are you invited? You certainly deserve to be after all this wonderful effort!

Hello Elle
No, I have never even met her, or know her name other than "Sue" to go on the cake.
I'm hoping for costs (though people always forget the oven and petrol to get the cake drum etc) plus a nice bottle!

Sorry, Ros - confusion! - when you said for a friend, I assumed the 'friend' was the birthday lady - I didn't appreciate there being a third person involved!
Yes, it would be nice if you weer at least reimbursed for any expenses incurred - if not rewarded as you say by an appreciative gesture of a bottle of wine!

Elle, it is not just my friends but every sane person in the North who get away.
Over the border, over here, or a holiday somewhere.
You have to understand that these people do not think like us. They are completely brainwashed from the cradle. The intelligent ones who can see the big picture move away from the hot spots to civilised communities and leave the cretins behind to rant about 1690.
These displays are of triumphalism and a misplaced sense of Britishness. They are absolutely terrified that GB will give up the North and abandon them. So they try to appear to be most loyal of the loyal.
Her Majesty is not likely to invite them for tea, anytime soon...so she's not.
I was still young when we immigrated. Just starting school.
I wonder if Pigale will organise a bear for you tomorrow?
