Hi, Rusty!
I have just been checking out the tennis results at Eastbourne.....
I see that Andy Murray went out to Kyle Edmund yesterday, who has himself lost out today.
The Men's Semis will be Zverev v Kukushku; and Lacko v. Cecchinato
And Karolina Pliskova , the reigning female champion has lost to Sabalenka, who will play Radwanska in the Semis tomorrow.
The other Women's Semi final is between Kerber and Wozniacki.
I do not have strong feelings any way.
It is disappointing not to be able to watch the men play.
Have you had chance to watch any of it?

Hello Elle, Rusty and everyone else!

Goodness this PCT has been busy today with trying to sort out
Red Button (whatever that is - but don't worry, I can't watch myTV
at present and only use it for DVDs - a friend will sort it out when he
comes over.

Just to let you know that despite my silence, all is well here; had a
busy couple of days with being entertained, and just managed in
between two invitations from friends, to bring Clueless to a satisfying
completion.

It is very hot here too, but we still have this breeze, quite strong at
time, and a light shawl on shoulders is required at times indoors -
We are on a warning for extra heat for this week-end, but then
I think we might have a few patches of rain (and some thunderstorms perhaps) for a few days, before it gets hot again.

How are you all coping?

Hello, Elle!
Heard Andy was out, but have not seen any of it.
I do not want Amazon TV.
I have Sky Sports, and EuroSport, BT Sport, At The Races, and that is more than enough for me!
I tend just to watch Wimbledon but am selective in who I watch.
I hope Sloane Stephens is playing.
I don't suppose she'll win, but I like her!
I like Wozniacki, too.
I watched a bit of the golf from Chicago earlier.
Danielle Kang is defending her title, but I think it is wide open.
I am rooting for Lexi Thompson and she is a bit off the pace, but it's only Day 1.
Still warm here!

Good evening, Pigale!
Lucky you having a breeze!
Very warm here and not a breath of wind!
Glad to know you are well and apparently, keeping busy!
"Red Button", on TVs gives more choice of what to watch, basically.
Extra programmes on the same channel and you can choose what to watch.
It works very well for MOST of us.
For instance at Wimbledon, you can choose from around 6 matches, which match to watch.
So, it's an excellent innovation.
Not long now until Le Tour!

Indeed Rusty, not long now, and I am looking forward to it!

I think we might have a rather warm July, but I hope it will not
go to extremely hot for the sake of the riders -though they are used
to it.

I must look and see if the route has been released yet - I have not
searched for it yet - have you?

The breeze can be a bit too much at times, so I can send some
your way!

Good morning, Pigale!
I am looking forward to Le Tour, too!
The route has been known for some time.
Apparently they have found a wonderful new climb in the Pyrenees.
The Col de Portet.

Good morning Rusty!

Thank you very much for the two links - I had not realized the route
had already been announced .

A very interesting article describing the ascension to Col de Portet,
and my goodness, how tough it will be, even more so coming
towards the end of the Tour, after many days of mountains!

I hope they make a good job of resurfacing the road, but if the
mountains does crumble every so often, there might still be the
odd stone that will fall after the re-surfacing - Unless the organisers
go up it by car to collect whatever they can at the last minute.

A good route by all means!

Already 25C here, but rather strong breeze (with 26miles/hour
gusts - I will be going to Market in a little while and hopefully
I will have a lift back up the fairly long hill to my house! I intend
to buy a lot of fruit including melons, and it will be heavy to
carry!

Hello, Pigale!
It is a bit cooler here, today, thankfully!
I hope they don't make the Col de Portet road surface too good!
But I suppose they have to, for normal traffic, when the Tour has gone.
And they will be going over some of the Paris-Roubaix cobblestones earlier in the Tour.
So a good mixture of roads, climbs etc.
Bring on Le Tour!

Pigale, I meant to say.
There has been a "war of words" between Bernard Hinault and Team Sky, regarding Froome riding the Tour.
I am in the Bernard Hinault camp!
