Hi, Rusty!
We have just had dinner - liver and bacon and mashed potato, with lots of thick onion gravy...delicious!
Actually, no, the Scottish side of the family are not doing too well...... it was not good news.
There are a few health problems scattered around.
The youngsters are great, though.
It is kind of you to ask.
That was good of you to paint your neighbour's fence.
Was this for the nurse to whom you give the puzzle section of your paper?
I do not know "doo-wop" either?
Is this something that came before rock 'n roll?
Oops! half past seven is approaching...and I think it is my turn to phone my cousin.......

Hello, Elle!
Liver and bacon sounds very tasty!
Yes, it was my neighbourly nurse's fence.
I give her the puzzle section of the paper each day and she takes it to work.
"Doo-wop" was a forerunner of rock-n-roll, yes.
Hope your cousin up North is fine!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, at least that section of the family is fine....
My cousin has had yet another operation on her hand, but all has gone well.
Hopefully it will be deemed a success when the stitches are removed on Friday.
Her grandchildren, a few years older than our eldest, are doing well at their secondary schools.
It will be a year next September before our eldest grandson moves on to secondary school.
I think my daughter and son-in-law start viewing potential schools early this year.
I have been reading.....
Tomorrow, I am going to have a browse on Amazon to see if there are any new books out by some of my favourite authors.

Hello, Elle!
Let's hope you find some books you like!
Did you get any more of Miss Peckwitt's?
Just been reading about Callum Hawkins collapse in the marathon run at the Gold Coast.
He was sprawled in the road for several minutes before help was offered.
What are these spectators and medical folk thinking about?
I hear he is recovering but will spend the night in hospital.
I hope he is fine after this.

Good morning, Rusty!
We have a lovely day here, bright blue sky and sunshine, with a temperature of 10C.
It was glorious out in the park.
It sounds as though Callum is fine today...but what a to-do yesterday.
From what I have been reading this morning, it sounds as though help can only be given, if the athlete asks for it.........otherwise he/ she would be disqualified.
But several officials have said that the decision should have been taken for Callum, as he was win no fit state to continue the race, and required urgent medical attention then and there.
I am sure there will be an investigation, and more positive guidelines laid down for the future.
The main thing is that Callum is okay!
I am back on track today.... drinking my coffee, eating my apple.....and about to look at the crossword!
How about you?
What are you up to?

Good morning, Elle!
Fine morning here.
Re Callum.
Apparently Team Scotland medical staff took over Callum's care as the system in place was useless.
Glad to hear he is OK, now.
I am about to paint a second coat on my neighbour's fence.
Then I am going to fill bin bags with stuff for the hospice charity shop.
Books, clothes, etc.
I finished the puzzle earlier.
A good one.
On Wednesday, the first qualifying puzzle for the The Timss championship will be in the paper.

Hi, Rusty!
I looked in on Lassie and Laddie.......only Lassie was there, sitting on her egg!
At least you have a fine day for your painting of your neighbour's fence.
You are making me feel guilty about having a sort out....
Regarding clearance of clothes, I think we are up- to- date there.
Well -know charities come round occasionally , leaving plastic bags for collecting discarded clothing, bags, shoes, bric-a brac
I always try to find something to contribute, so basically it is mainly books that still need "sorting".
Mmmm, one day.....
I am half way through the puzzle...but I am not liking it......
I doubt I'll be up to the Championship crosswords!
I shall leave the crossword for now...I have other things that need doing.....

Hi, Rusty!
What a lovely warm afternoon it turned out to be.
I think you would think it "shirt sleeve" weather!
We are just back from a walk.
How did your fence painting go?
I hope your friend is pleased with the result.

Hello, Elle!
It is a fine day here, too.
I have several "shirt sleeves" in my bag for the hospice charity shop!
The fence is finished. Looks fair enough.
I have not seen my neighbour for a day or two.
She works shifts at the hospital, so it can be several days before our paths cross.
Have you browsed the books on Amazon?

Hi, Rusty!
I just popped out to post a birthday card.
I had forgotten it.......and the collection was at 5.30.
Amazon has sent me emails telling me of new books by Jeffrey Archer and Sebastian Faulks.
Both of these are authors whom I like very much.
As yet, though, the books are only in hardback, which makes them very expensive.
I shall wait until they are out in paperback and then order them.
I have yet to browse on Amazon......
