Hi, Rusty!
What a funny afternoon .......funny as in peculiar...
We seem to be having premature April showers!
It is both raining and sunshining at the same time!
Good to be out though!
My (younger) daughter has texted to tell me that she has passed her exam!
She was taking some sort of computing exam this morning..
It is just an additional qualification that she wanted to add to her CV.
It is nothing relevant to her current job...but possibly useful should she apply for a post elsewhere.
A strange coincidence in that both daughters are suddenly applying themselves to studying again!
Elder daughter goes back to Uni part-time come September.
And of course, I am signed up for that course about Windows10....... Not quite so high-brow as their activities, though!!

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, we have it wet and miserable ,too........although some sunshine occasionally filters through.
It is fairly mild.
Not quite Rusty's shirt sleeve weather of yesterday, but warm enough to leave off some of the Michelin man's layers!
A wet Easter seems to be forecast!

Yes Elle, a (very) wet Easter, and a wet week afterwards as well!

Thursday is going to be rainy, and very windy and....... I am going
to the hairdresser! (followed by usual GP appointment).
If it were not for the trim element to keep the shape, if will hardly
be worthwhile to my hair done!

Hello, Pigale!
Rain here, too, Pigale!
Coldish, too.
Laddie is taking his time.
Maybe he is waiting until they get the webcam working properly before he appears!

Hello, Elle!
We have a little bit of sun and a lot of rain.
Some roads are flooded in places.
No shirt sleeve weather today!
I think that is very good of your daughters studying.
As you know, I have no qualifications whatsoever (apart from driving licence) but I admire those who knuckle down (where did knuckle down come from?) and study to better themselves.
I think I would run a mile from a Windows 10 course!

Hi, Rusty!
Maybe you tempted providence with the weather by going out in your shirt sleeves yesterday!
My younger daughter has continued on and off to take various other exams, since finishing her degree in Software Engineering, thus gaining extra qualifications.
But elder daughter changed horses mid-stream, after qualifying in Computer Science, and working for a time in Investment Banking, and has now switched careers altogether.......taking Counselling courses.
I don't think, Rusty, that you should dwell on what you did or didn't do when you were younger.
You are very well read, and well versed now in many subjects.
I only wish that I had your General Knowledge.
And I haven't done this Windows 10 course yet.........
Even though it is only for Beginners, I may well not understand any of it!

Hello, Elle!
It is turning into a pleasant evening here.
No rain!
I think your daughters have done very well in their careers!
It is great to see the young ones getting on!
I only know little bits of different things but no education to speak of.
I am glad I am away from Windows.
Chromebooks are very much simpler, and just right for me.
Now, seeing you are missing your daily fix at the loch, here is a report from Emma about something that happened before I took an interest.
The female bird was Lady, who they think was the oldest breeding female that they knew of.

Hi, Rusty!
Oh dear! I have only just got the desktop computer working efficiently ...and now my Hudl seems to have "died" on me..........
I may have to look for an alternative?
Something very simple and basic........
It is a pity it didn't do this at the weekend, whilst my daughter was here!
She could have taken a look at it.......
I really do not like modern technology.......
I am psyching myself up to start this Windows course!
I read your link about Lady..........
She obviously came to the conclusion that "if you want a thing done well, do it yourself"!

Hello, Elle!
What kind of "died" has the Hudl done?
Is it charging?
Tesco had a Freephone helpline number for the Hudl.
I had problems with mine, did a "factory reset" and it improved dramatically.
Curry's have lots of tablets, with at least a dozen costing less than £100.
Their cheapest is around £50.
I imagine they would be fairly basic and may suit you?
You probably have a Curry's in Bromley?

Hi, Rusty!
Ah, that is good timing!
Our friend has just left, having brought our car back.
He stayed for about an hour , chatting and drinking coffee......and eating ginger thins!
All ok with the car.
No problems; it has passed its MOT, so is ready for action in the morning.
Now...the Hudl..... the green light is on , thereby indicating it is charged?
But if i press to switch it on, all I get is a quick flash but nothing further happens!
The screen remains dark.
The tablet appears completely unresponsive.
It has been like this for several days, despite repeated charging.
Any ideas, please?
Did anything like this happen with yours?
