Good morning, Rusty!
A damp morning! And a muddy dog!
We went out exceptionally early this morning, as we had to fit in a visit to the Crematorium after going to the park, to take our plants for both Mother's Day and the Anniversary tomorrow of my mother's death.
All this before going out midday for lunch!
Now....... I do have a picture of the osprey nest on my desk top computer....but it is obviously not 'live'.
There is no movement.......and no noise.
( I cannot check on my Hudl as yet, because the battery is flat)
I emailed to the site yesterday evening, addressed to
complaints @scottishwildlifetrust.org.uk
I did not say that I was annoyed/ angry/ whatever, though, but took the line that I should be very upset and disappointed were I unable to follow the progress of Lassie and Laddie - and any potential offspring - because of camera failure.
I pointed out I was not the only one...and they would be greatly disappointing their 'public' ........and may well lose monetary support as a result.
It will be interesting to see if I have a reply!

Good morning, Elle!
Yes, you'll have a busy day!
Now this webcam!
It is a live picture I have, but.....!
I only get it by holding down the "refresh" button on my keyboard.
The "circular arrow" button.
No sound though.
Even when I have the "black screen", if I hold down the "refresh" button the live picture comes on.
Not ideal but it is a "workaround".
Hope you get a reply!
I noticed earlier that the squirrel has a blonde tail!

Hello again, Elle!
Look at your picture at the loch again.
Top left, there is movement/current on the water?
And look at the small branches to the left of the nest.
There is slight movement.
It is quite a still day there, with only a gentle breeze.

Hi, Rusty!
Mmm....."Curiouser and curiouser" cried Alice.....
This is weird!
My picture does not show the loch nor any water?
It shows most of the osprey nest against a background of trees.........

Hello, Elle!
Yes, that's correct.
I think the nest will be the main focus so that they catch the arrival of Laddie.
Look at the little green twig/branches to the left of the nest in the lower half of the screen.
You will see a slight movement?

Hi, Rusty!
Well, yes, I do NOW!
It is quite breezy!
But honestly , there was no movement there at all, when I looked earlier!
And I stared at it for ages!
I read that the osprey nest is the size of a double bed!
That seems incredible......it doesn't look it , does it?

Hello, Elle!
Earlier the movement was imperceptible.
No breeze, but there was the slightest of movements, and there was a slight ripple on the water, top left.
I think the nest is huge, seen from a distance away.
Look at the size of this bird!

Good morning Elle and Rusty!

Beautiful day here, breezy but nice temperature at +17C !

Now, the webcam.
I have a picture of the nest, with, after the first few seconds some
light movements on some greenery bottom left of the screen and
in some tree behind the nest -

If I switch off, and after a minute or so, log on the site again,
the very same movements happen at the same time in the
same place!
Right at the bottom of picture, under black band, there is some sort
of timer which goes back to zero when I log back on.

No noise

I tend to think it is a recording!

Hi, Rusty!
I'm afraid that I cannot go back and check, because all I have showing now is a photograph of an osprey standing on the nest!
Grrrh! Very aggravating!!
Yes, the eagle is certainly extremely large.......especially when compared to the deer.
I shall have to leave you with this conundrum, as I must go and get ready to go out!
I'll be back about teatime, so will catch up with you then.

Good morning, Pigale!
No, I think it is live, Pigale.
I am only 25 miles from the loch and we have the same weather conditions today.
There is a delay of around 15 seconds before it transmits, for some reason.
No sound for me either,....or a reply to my email!

Hello, Elle,
Use the "refresh" button on your keyboard.
Hold it down for several seconds and the picture should go to the "live" nest shot.
