Hello Elle and Rusty!

A rather wet start to Paris Nice: Similar conditions here earlier, but
the sun is just showing the tip of its nose.....

Glad the worse seems to be over for you Elle, and Rusty, at least
the end of this snowy long episode might be in sight?

Hello, Elle!
Snow has stopped.
Roll on the thaw!
My old walking shoe has a loose sole, so I am going to glue it back on, and see if it lasts.
Cycling going well.
A masterclass from Kirsten Wild in the points race.
"Go Wild" banners all around the velodrome!
Elinor Barker still suffering from her crash.
She finished down the field.
Her shoulder prevented her riding the Madison, but a very able deputy in Emily Nelson.
Good luck with your puzzle!

Hi, Rusty!
It is good that your snow has at last stopped.
Want any rain?
We have it aplenty.....
I did the Everyman puzzle early this morning - a very simple one this week.
No stray bits over which to mull.....
I am at present doing the ST crossword.
I'm not doing so well here...I have answers, but not always full parsings.
Maybe light will dawn later......or I may have to give in, and seek help!
I must make a coffee - and perhaps some toast? - before the start of the Athletics.....

Hello, Pigale!
Wet, dull and miserable here, too!
But at least it is a tad warmer...and there is NO snow!
Traced of ice in places, though...so need to watch where we are walking.
But a great improvement on before.......

Hello, Pigale!
A good win for Arnaud Demare, today!
Lucky you with the sun.
I think you are correct regarding the snow.
There is less on the house roofs today, but side roads still snowy and potentially dangerous.
I wonder where Lassie and Laddie are?
They will have started their migration North by now.
Hope they miss the snow!

Hello, Elle!
Snow has turned to light rain here.
That is encouraging!
Will take a while to shift it though.
Have you managed your puzzle?
I am not keen on the ST puzzle.
I prefer The Times ones.

Hi, Rusty!
I have finally surfaced again.......!
I have been engrossed in watching the Indoor Athletics Championships since 3pm.
There have been 22 disqualifications over this four day event!
Seemingly, the last time there were more than just a random few, was when the Championships were previously held in Birmingham!
Odd.......?
Michael Johnson thought it needed investigating.
Our GB 4 x 400 Women's Relay team was the last "victim".
Firstly, the GB team was updated to a Bronze medal, because the Jamaican team was disqualified........
Then the GB team was itself disqualified for apparently pushing and shoving?
This news came near the end of the BBC transmission, so I don't know whether there were any appeals.
We may hear more later.
Did you hear that Mo Farah won the London Half-Marathon, Daniel Nanjiru was second, and Callum Hawkins came third?
Well done!

Hello, Elle!
Does seem a large amount of disqualifications at the athletics.
I heard about Mo and Callum. Very good runs!
I do not know Daniel Nanjiru, though.
I think the thaw has started here.
Seems to be less on the roofs.
I hope that is the last of the snow!

Hello Rusty,

Sorry, missed your post earlier - I've been away from the
computer for a while watching a DVD called 'Disraeli' - Very
interesting! Knew nothing about him.

Yes, good win for Arnaud, but I've just looked at the photo-finish -
well, how on earth can they decide who won?
Pretty flat country around there!

Glad about your snow - I have sent you and Elle some of the
warmth and a ray of sun! but it was rather miserable up to early
afternoon though.

Hi, Rusty!
I am sorry...I made a mistake there..
I should have put a "W" - Daniel Wanjiru!
He is a Kenyan long-distance runner, and won last year's (2017) London Marathon.
I have watched far too much television these last few days......
But, hey, I have thoroughly enjoyed the Indoor Athletics championships!
I wonder who won the Men's Pole Vault in the end?
The competition went on beyond the BBC tranmission time...and we were left "hanging".......
I could have looked it up on the BBC Sports website, later on, I guess, but caught up with reading my book......and have only just moved now to make a coffee and come to the computer!
I shall take a look anon and see what I can find out.
Back to normal tomorrow with an early morning walk!

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, I got your warmth!
A maximum of 9C here!
But the sunshine was in short thrift....it petered out into rain!
Mind you, the rain is advantageous, as hopefully it will rid us of the last remnants of snow and ice.

Hello, Pigale!
I know little about Disraeli, too!
A good win for Arnaud, but a long way to go yet!
I think my snow is very, very, gradually, diminishing!
I hope I do not waken to more snow having fallen during the night!
The temperature here is meant to go up a couple of degrees during the week.
Hope so!
