Hello, Elle!
No, YOU have found it!
Well done!
That is really specialised knowledge having to know Andy Capp's neighbours!
I was thinking a neighbour of "C" would be "B" or "D"!
Makes a nice change from Greek poets, I suppose, knowing Andy Capp's neighbours!
I did have an inkling about Quadragesima.
Are not there 40 days in Lent?
The "Quad" bit suggests that?
Yes, you have a coffee.
I have a strawberry trifle!

Those Sundays with the long winded-names count down the weeks before Easter. So quadragesima is 4 Sundays before. I remember septuagesima and sexagesima (we thought that a bit rude!)
Funny how no-one ever thought to explain this at the time I got taken to church.

Hi, Rusty!
I have maybe made amends a little for my denseness in other quarters!
I think considering a neighbour of "C" to be either "B" or "D" might be taken up by Mr R in a future crossword?
Good thinking!
I have just realised it is Saturday tomorrow!
Only three sleeps to Christmas!
( Is it not a little late in the day to be eating a strawberry trifle? )

Thank you for the explanation, Ros.
It is a terminology I have never come across.

Hello, Elle!
You have done very well finding out about "stuff"!
Yes, just three sleeps to Christmas.
Exciting!
I do not see what time has to do with eating?
I only have me to please, so no structured mealtimes.
When hungry, I eat!
I have several more trifles in my fridge.
I am going to ASDA early tomorrow.
Have my wee list made out!

A Very good morning to you, Rusty!
Wet yet again here ...and still very mild!
A brisk breeze , blue sky and some sunshine would be nice!
I like to feel energised when I walk the dog!
Just a few minor jobs to do this morning.....
Then I shall take a look at the crosswords!
Did you make it out early to Asda?
Have you bought all on your list?

Good morning, Elle!
Lovely day here, and very mild.
Beautiful blue sky above!
I went to ASDA earlier.
Got everything including bars of chocolate for me.
I have completed my puzzle.
A good one, today.
15a is my favourite.
Someone has written to Rose, with a complaint about a Quick Crossword this week.
Should it be "unctuous" or "unctious", that is the query?
Turns out the puzzle was set by Mr Rogan!
He said the puzzle had a "Father Ted" them.
He also said he uses crossword setting software to set the puzzle.

Hi, Rusty!
I am very envious of your weather!
I hate this warm wet environment!
Goodness, you are quick off the mark with your crossword today!
I haven't even printed mine out yet.
I must have missed doing that particular QC under discussion this week......I do not always do the easier puzzle.
I do not remember "unctuous" either in a clue or as an answer?
As you can see, I spell it with three "u"s...I do not recall ever seeing it spelt otherwise?
What was the "beef" about?
Now , you have lost me , who is "Father Ted"?
Dare I admit I don't know what 'crossword setting software' is/ comprises?

Hello, Elle!
Our weather is fine, but....we have a weather warning for heavy rain!
Apparently Mr Rogan had an archaic spelling, "unctious", and that was what Rose's correspondent was on about.
Mr Rogan said he did not notice it until Rose brought it to his attention.
Now, "Father Ted", was a TV sit-com about the priests on Craggy Island.
Fathers Ted, Dougal, and Jack, and housekeeper Mrs Doyle.
It was a favourite of mine!
Just you admit away, Elle, about lack of knowledge of crossword setting software!
I did not know about it, too.
And, I suspect, many more will be like us!
