Hello, Elle,
No, I do not agree.
She said when she was nine years old she wanted to sing and have fans.
She taught herself operatic arias when she was nine!
Now she does what she always wanted to do, and in the process is growing up.
We all have to grow up!
How is your daughter getting on with her new car?

Hi, Rusty!
Oops!
Our last posts crossed!
You will see that I thought her last photographs showed (to me) a happy and contented - and very beautiful teenager.
Somehow these pics portrayed a very different image from the short video I watched earlier.
But I still think that childhood is precious and to be savoured ...and not something to be rushed through......
I haven't had a report back yet on the new car!
My daughter is going to phone tomorrow.
She rang from the train as she was arriving at Luton to collect the car... a garage member of staff was very kindly meeting her there!

Hello again

Yes, as mentioned in post 17707, I do believe she is doing exactly
what she wants, but I am sure her family makes sure she still
enjoys her young years.

Rusty, These are the pictures I was talking about!

A very good morning to you. Rusty!
We have snow!
When I arose this morning, it was to a Winter Wonderland!
Everywhere was covered by snow........and it was sticking......
But now it is raining...and hopefully, fingers crossed, will succeed in washing away the snow!
What is it like in your neck of the woods?
I hope the weather will not interfere with your outing to the Pine Cone with your granddaughters?

7" of snow here (Oxfordshire) and no electricity for 7 hours! Made me very appreciative of it, and wonder what the Inuit used to do in the long months of darkness.
I have a small butane stove, a log fire, candles and a tiny torch for reading (it illuminates about 4 words at once!) but am pleased not to have to spend the evening in the dark, more or less. Did you have a power cut, elle? Are you OK rusty and pigale?

Hello Rosalind,

Thank you for enquiring - I feel very sorry for your present fate!
Any idea when things will be back to normal (I mean from news on
a battery radio?)
Here, not that cold but very very windy, not quite storm rating,
but almost particularly further North along the coast.
Here, just 55 miles an hour in gusts.

Hope the power comes back soon!
and if you go out, please be careful!!!

PS - I hope you have plenty of wood in reserve - just looked at
the forecast in your area over the next couple of days, and minus 12 or
so have been mentioned!
Hope your power comes back before this!

How horrible for you, Ros!
Apart from some snow, and its being very cold, we are fortunately all right here.
Thank you for enquiring.
I am most impressed by your being prepared for any eventuality!
To have a torch. candles , a butane stove and a log fire is brilliant!
We would be in dire straits should we have a power cut here!
We do have a torch and candles but would have no form of heat.
Rusty has been quiet all the day....I hope all is well up in Dundee.
I'm glad that you are okay, Pigale.
I hope things improve soon, Ros.
Keep warm!

Hello Elle,

Weather conditions in France - well around here - are just rainy
and as I said, extremely windy. Temps no lower than minus 2/3 at
night.

But Rosalind, how did you manage to post on PCT if you have no
power for your computer - Do you have an ipad fully charged?
