I still have our Wedding Anniversary cards up on the piano, but they will come down for the family Christmas cards to stand in their place.
The other cards go on card trees (is that what they are called?) that hang on the wall.
You have put me in mind of the Kinks - "A Dedicated Follower of Fashion..." or not , in your case, so you say!
Yes, cold tomorrow here, too!
It will only be minus 3 when I go out with the dog in the morning!
(It is as well that you bought another fleece shirt!)

No, I do not follow fashion.
One thing I really dislike is button-down collar shirts.
Awful looking things!
I have fleece lined trousers, too, and I think they are great.
I wouldn't say they were at all fashionable though, but they are warm!

Seriously, though.......it is good that you have successfully carried out your missions, and are safely back home and able to relax in the warm.
I came in about ten minutes ago, and do not intend venturing any further than the garden until tomorrow!
I am drinking a coffee.......and am about to continue the Christmas cards saga.........

Hello Elle and Rusty, and Hello Ros

Heating on here too! After some +7c to +10C (!), it is now just
+2C which is more in keeping with normality. No more westerly
influence, so less rain, we even had something bright shining in
the sky this morning! Do you know what it might be?

My neighbour obviously contacted a local company to deal with
the tree and they were busy all morning - Only one border slate
came off from my roof, and a piece of wood from upstairs window
got broken - They said that they could glue the slate (very special
glue obviously, but that company also deals with roof repairs).
As to the piece of wood, I can't quite see where it should go!
Anyway, those shutters are always closed in Winter - it's a room
which is really more like a converted attic, above the garage -
useful for guests!

How is it in your neck(s) of the wood(s) ?
Are you still bothered with snow Ros ?

Should be going shopping locally with a friend tomorrow and.... it
is supposed to heave down! Good I'll be in a car.

Update to my earlier post........I have had a fulfilling afternoon....
I have finally finished writing all my "general" Christmas cards - and now only need to buy stamps before I can send them!
How about that, then?
"Family" cards have yet to be bought - one of tomorrow's tasks!
My daughter has just phoned.
She was working from home today, so that she could attend BB's Christmas play.
He was the Innkeeper!
All went well!
I shall now attend to dinner.......

There are some excellent grab adhesives on the market for slates/roofs etc.

I was but teasing you, Rusty, about being Santa's little helper!
It is good of you to help out your family in this way, by running errands for everyone, especially driving around in potentially adverse weather.
At least you didn't have snow after all!
Well, the cards are finished!
My next task is to buy the remainder of the presents!
So tomorrow after my walk in the park, that is what we shall do.
We shall go shopping!
My husband is persuaded into being joint chief of staff.....chauffeur....and carrier of parcels!
( We shall treat ourselves to lunch out!)
I haven't so much as glanced at a crossword all day!
