Good morning, Pigale!
I am sure something will be worked out for the funeral.
But, yes, there are always security risks these days.
I wonder if it will be televised?

Good morning, Elle!
It is wild here!
Very windy but no snow, so far.
Only cars allowed over our bridge.
Everything else, including pedestrians, are not allowed on.
Roll on this evening when the wind should ease a bit!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is mildish and very wet, here!
A somewhat poggy walk with the end result being a very muddy dog!
We have a wind beginning to get up now....but it was calm for most of my walk.
I am glad that so far you are without snow.........
Fingers crossed, it will stay that way!
I have read that Scotland is on amber and yellow alerts........?
Have you ventured out for your paper?
Or are you content to do it online?

Hello, Pigale!
I hope your weather is not too cold ?
It is fairly mild here at10C, but apparently will be down to zero by tomorrow morning.
I'm afraid that I do not know of Johnny Hallyday?
(I asked a few fellow dog walkers who professed equal ignorance!)
But I do take your point about security. It is a major problem these days.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I was out for my paper. Pretty blowy out!
The snow (if it comes) may appear after the winds die away.
I can do the puzzle online but I much prefer the paper.
I have finished the puzzle and it is a tester today!
1a, 1d, 15d, are new words to me.
And there is a dreadful homonym (i think it is called?) at 26a!
I am surprised you do not know of Johnny Hallyday!

Hi, Rusty!
Still wet, and now windy, here...but not particularly nasty!
I think the worst is due tomorrow and the weekend.
I have had a friend with me here all morning, so haven't yet had chance to look at the crossword!
You have done well to finish yours so quickly.
I am away out now for lunch with my friend.........
Catch up with you later..........

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am home again now, and my friend has departed to visit her family .
We had a most enjoyable lunch!
It was great to go out ...and to catch up on all our news.
We have had very heavy rain on and off all day...but still mild as yet, and no stronger winds than those experienced earlier.
What is it like at your end?
I hope you have not had any snow?
I shall hopefully catch you before your son arrives to see you!

Hello, Elle!
My son has gone home!
The winds have died down here but it is cold outside.
No snow, as yet.
Forecast is a bit vague.
But we are set for low temperatures!

Hey, Rusty!
I hope you had a nice evening with your son?
It is good to chat!
Did he bring you a few meals from the butcher, in case the weather worsens and it is not safe underfoot for you to go out?
We are told our temperature will drop to 2C by tomorrow morning and will reach a low of minus 1 during the day!
But I think on the whole we shall get off lightly........
I have been doing an "old" Everyman (2986) unearthed on another thread!
Still a couple to parse......

He brought two butcher's meals for me.
It is 1C outside.
Going to be low temps for quite a few days now.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful morning here ...blue sky, sunshine...but bitterly cold, only 2C.
A very enjoyable, brisk and invigorating walk!
I was reluctant to return home.
A nice hot coffee is very welcome, though!
How is it in your area?
Have the heavy winds abated?
Is there any snow?
Have you managed to get out for your paper?

Good day, Elle!
Great day here but bitter!
Just the odd flurry of snow and it is no problem.
Still fairly breezy.
Getting info from Donegal that they have snow causing problems.
Minor crashes on snowy roads etc.
My kitchen had no electricity earlier but my son has came to the rescue.
All fine now!
Running late though.
Just bought my paper.
Home for the day now!
