Hi, Rusty!
I think daughter's plan is to call on a friend on her way home, which will probably necessitate her leaving here by about 10am.
This will enable me to take the dog out as usual, and still be back in time to see her before she leaves.
She should be home in time to collect the boys from After School Club.
Other daughter has had a disaster - the gear box has gone on her car!
The RAC had to go over to Luton and collect her and car in a breakdown truck and bring them back to London!
She has just texted that she is safely home!
Still raining here......

Hello Elle,

Glad to know your daughter has been delivered back to London
safely - but isn't it with this same car that she had some problem
not that long ago?

Good that you had a nice week-end!

Hello, Elle!
There is always something happening!
Could be a very expensive repair to the gearbox.
Wonder what caused the problem?
As well she is in RAC and got home safely, though.
It is about 4C here and dry and a good forecast for tomorrow.
So, not so bad!

Good morning, Rusty!
A dull but slightly milder morning!
Elder daughter has just left for home.....I hope she doesn't encounter rain or snow on the journey!
The sky looks very ominous......
Now, younger daughter's car....I did not explain fully yesterday.....she was in Luton because she had gone to look at - and subsequently bought - another car, knowing that the gear box on existing car was more-or-less caput.
What she hadn't bargained for, was its conking out altogether on the return journey!
Enter the RAC.......
Right, I need a coffee.....

Hello, Pigale!
Yes, you are quite right ...same car
She has just bought another one though!
That is why she was in Luton, checking it over.....!
She collects it on Saturday.

What a pity your daughter's car didn't last one more week, elle. However, at least she does have another one lined up.
I had the family over to chicken korma yesterday and the children loved it. Made properly with cream, yoghurt, saffron, cashews and rose water! Not anything like a curry house one, but not one as served to the Moghul emperors either.ie no gold leaf!
I ordered a top quality turkey a couple of weeks ago and now have some advertising literature from the same firm offering 10% off. Bad move. M & S will do next year.

Good day, Elle!
Another lovely day here and less cold than last week!
Hope your daughter does not run into snow.
Not good driving in snowy conditions!
That's good your younger daughter has a replacement car on the horizon.
What will she do with the broken one?
A repair will be costly?
I have been out and about earlier today, but home for the day now!

Hi, Rusty!
You are doing well with your lovely weather...whereas we keep getting damp and miserable days here.
My daughter had planned to offer her existing car in part exchange for the "new" one, but the amount offered was only "peanuts", and so she decided to drive it home again (a bad move, as it turned out!) and is now looking into doing a possible deal with "We Buy Any Car".
Certainly she will not be paying for any repairs!
She will collect the "new " car on Saturday.
I think she said it is a Peugeot 3008.
Black.
I have completed the Times QC earlier and am now about to take a look at the 15 x15
Have you done your puzzle?

Hello, Ros!
Yes, such is the way of things!
Never mind - at least she will have a new car next w/e!
I thought that Chicken Korma had Coconut milk in it?
Such as I have tasted always had?
I assumed that this was why I didn't like it,

Hello, Elle!
Our weather has been good, yes.
I do not know your daughter's new car (I am not really into cars) but I hope it proves reliable.
My last car was a dud and I gave it away and glad to see the back of it.
My Jazz is going along nicely, however, and I am pleased with it.
No, I won't get near my puzzle for a while.
Have one or two things needing my attention here first.

Hi elle
I believe most kormas made in England have coconut milk in them. Good ones have almonds or cashews (ground with water) as well, none of which is apparently authentic. Korma comes from a word meaning "braise". I think the essentials of the liquid are yoghurt and/or cream. However, it's like so much else, people swear that so-and-so is authentic or not. I did some research and found an old on-line article from the Guardian and, having read it all, followed her recipe and everyone loved it (even the fussy 7 year old) so I will make it again. I did reduce the number of cinnamon sticks from 4 to 1, though.
While I was in India, I never once had a hot curry and the best food I ate there was some stuffed peppers which were street food, pronounced OK by our guide. Whatever was inside was delicious. I think they cost 70p each (2003).

Hi, Rusty!
I am rather surprised that my (younger) daughter has bought another French car...... our mechanic friend is not very keen on them.
He says that they are great whilst all goes well, but very difficult - and ultra expensive - to repair once something goes wrong .....
I think it is all to do with the electrics?
I do know that we ran into constant problems with our Renault Megane Dynamique..........
Like you with your Rover, we eventually gave it away!
We are much happier back with a Volvo!
Your Jazz sounds good? Is it Japanese?
Other daughter used to have a Mazda.
(I am not well up on cars)
Speaking of other daughter.......she has phoned to say that she reached home safely, and was just off to school to collect the boys.
So all is well!
Have you finished all your jobs?
How is your crossword going?

Hello, Ros!
I think you are a much better cook than I am!
I am most ready to admit that my husband also cooks more adventurously than do I!
I am a more boring "we have to eat to survive" cook!
But we do eat stuffed peppers!
(perhaps not to your specifications , though!)
