Hi, Rusty!
I cannot pretend to understand any of it, Rusty.....
When I looked up "Cloud computing" on Google...this is what I found...
"Cloud computing is an information technology (IT) paradigm that enables ubiquitous access to shared pools of configurable system resources and higher-level services that can be rapidly provisioned with minimal management effort, often over the Internet."
I haven't got the foggiest idea what all that means!
But so long as you have got your tablets sorted out, that is what counts!
And you have Miss O to fall back on for help if necessary, that is useful!
I found using the computer a lot easier when we had Windows XP.....there were programmes easy to access where one could look up information....
Windows 10 is way over my head....and to find out anything, it is necessary to type in a question/ command....
But if one doesn't know exactly what one wants to access - therefor what to type - this is difficult!
Sorry, this is the best I can do at explaining my predicament....
I doubt anyone well versed in modern technology will understand my limitations!
Now to watch "Eggheads" - that might raise my spirits a little if I can answer the questions correctly!!

Hello, Pigale!
Well done at becoming the proud owner of a Hudl 2!
I do hope you enjoy using it.
And you got it a at a very reasonable price, too.
I must say i like this idea of letting eBay do the bidding !
Paypal is new to me personally ... I have so far always paid by Barclaycard when buying something from eBay.

Hello, Ros!
No, I haven't watched "Eggheads" yet...I'm just about to do so......
Give yourself a pat on the back............beating Kevin is no mean achievement!

What a load of old jargon/mumbo jumbo elle, re cloud computing.
I don't undertsand it, but I think you can store stuff outwith your computer on it. Couldn't care less, have an external drive to store stuff on!
I didn't see what happened in the last few minutes of Eggheads, elle. Who won?

Hello, Elle!
I know nothing about the Cloud and have no idea what that sentence means.
But, I know it lets the manufactures make Chromebooks a lot cheaper than say, Windows laptops, because there are lots less bits inside.
American schools use Chromebooks a lot.
One drawback would be that you need WiFi all the time.
I like them but many would not, I suppose.
They do not get viruses, which is good.
Anyway, my Toshiba has got a new lease of life, and that pleases me.
Pigale done well with her bidding in the auction!
Seems a good price for a Hudl 2 !

Hi, Rusty!
I have had a late dinner - Chilli con Carne - and watched "Eggheads".
I knew some of the answers but I was not at my best!
Younger daughter rang and we have been chatting for a long time.
She wanted to discuss a Christmas present for BB.
Speaking of whom.....BB asked me yesterday where one bought "reindeer mix" to put out on Christmas Eve for Santa's reindeer!
Now, I truly thought this was a figment of his imagination......
After all, in my day - and that of my children - we put out a carrot for the reindeer, and a mince pie for Father Christmas!
But I have since looked up "reindeer mix" on Goggle - and lo and behold, there are many recipes to make this......
One example is a mix of Rice Chex, Cheerios, peanuts, pretzels and M&MS… all coated in melted white chocolate and then broken into chunks!
It sounds disgusting to me!
Surely any self-respecting reindeer would run(fly) a mile!

Hello, Ros!
The two remaining "Eggheads" - Dave and Steve - won against four Challengers!
I'm sorry for the delay in reporting back- I have only just got around to watching it!
"Life" intervened!

Hello, Elle!
CCC is very nice.
I have had it for my tea several times.
Not watched Eggheads for a while.
I used to like Daphne!
Not heard of reindeer mix. Would a couple of carrots not do?
If you go to Millets you can get "trail mix"!
Amongst all your ingredients for "reindeer mix" I only recognise peanuts!
So...! When are you having a go at eBay? !

Thanks elle. What a pity, the challengers were doing so well.
Reindeer mix sounds a bit silly and expensive to me- who ever is going to eat that?

My grandson had his plaster cast off and the surgeon asked if he had any questions. He asked why joints in plaster go stiff (his wrist is, a little). He was given the analogy with a hinge or lock on an unused door, but I am not sure about his. It's not a biological explanation, is it? Interesting.

Hi, Rusty!
I am surprised that some ultra intelligent five year old has not pointed out how dangerous it would be to give chocolate to a reindeer!
I am unsure about the properties of white chocolate, but some of the reindeer mixes include brown chocolate!
When our dog ate a giant Toblerone bar, it cost us £100 in vet's bills for her to treated against possible theobromine poisoning,
The darker the chocolate, the higher the theobromine content, and the more dangerous
The dog had to be given an enema to empty her stomach.
Now re eBay,
I shall have to find something I want to buy, before I can go and play!

Ros,
Was your grandson - or rather his mum - not given a leaflet such as this, to provide info about preventing stiffening of the limb?
http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/resources/patient-information/therapies/hand-therapy/advice-for-patients-with-a-fractured-wrist-in-a-plaster-cast.pdf
it is a bit late to mention it now, I know (horses and stable doors come to mind) but I was just wondering why he should feel so stiff?

Hello, Elle!
I am not up on reindeer poisoning, I'm afraid.
But it does seem an odd thing to give to one.
Carrots would be fine, surely?
I think dark chocolate is helpful in lowering BP, is it?
It is good for something anyway.
You could explore replacement 'phones on eBay!

Hello again!

I believe dark chocolate is indeed good for BP, it is also good
if you have a sore throat and it is certainly good if you are
slightly depressed - good for the moral, and good to the palate!
It is also good for many other things as well, but all I really
know is that I love it, and the very dark ones, 7 to80% cacao

Reading this thread made me think about it and I have just e
enjoyed one nice piece.

Hi elle- that's a very helpful leaflet. It wasn't a wrist fracture but forearm and it was immobilized for 8 weeks. He did exercises but it is the twisting which is stiff. It will be OK in time- his Mum makes him move it. I just think it's an interesting question- what is happening to make it stiff? It isn't rust, as in a lock!
