Hello, Elle!
It is next week the clocks change.
I have four to change and my watch.
Yes, "lighty" does not appear to be a word.
The Scots for "light" is "licht", perhaps I should have used "lichty"?
Katie Archibald has won another gold.
I have had a pleasant evening reading.

Hey, Rusty!
My adjusted and reorganised shelving looks good.
I am pleased with it!
I too have been reading....I am reading "the Brave" by Nicholas Evans, he of "The Horse Whisperer" and "The Smoke Jumper" fame.
It is good.
I think we shall have to call off our plans to meet up with family tomorrow.
My husband's cold is no better ........and we are both coughing now!
(He is generous in sharing his germs)
No point in passing infections on to the others....especially as they are having a short holiday this coming half term.
They are going to Stonehenge.
This is somewhere I have never been!

Good morning, Elle!
Not so good that your husband and you have a bug!
A pity to cancel your "meet-up" though.
Are they staying near Stonehenge?
There is a mini Stonehenge about 300 yards from my home.
Only one stone still standing, though.
I think it is around 4000 years old.
When "my" ASDA was looking for a site for their present store, they wanted to build next to it, but the council chased them!
Unlike Stonehenge, I have never seen a visitor at the stones.
Why not join your family on their Stonehenge trip?
It is a lovely morning here!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a lovely, albeit chilly, morning here, too!
I don't know how close to Stonehenge the family is staying?
Usually she sends me a link with all the details......
No, we shall not be joining them.......
Our elder daughter and grandsons always come to stay with us over the half term weeks!
So we could hardly go away!
However........we are both feeling absolutely rotten...so have asked for the visiting family members to reschedule.
There is no way we are up to entertaining two small energetic boys for a week (from tomorrow), in our current state of fragility!
What are you up to, today?

Hello, Elle!

Sorry to hear your husband and you are a bit under par.
A pity your family meet ups are up in the air.
Probably very sensible, though.
I have no plans today!
Will watch the cycling and golf on TV.
I have been keeping an eye on the Great South Run from Portsmouth on Ch5.
Seems a fine breezy day down there!

Elle,
I forgot to say that the Oxford English Dictionary "Word of the Day", is "nesh"!
Seems quite apt for you today!

Hi, Rusty!
Uhmmm..... Oh dear, I'm not sure you should be accusing a Northerner of being "nesh", Rusty!
Yes, it can mean being in "delicate health", but we always used it as a derogatory term.....if some one was "nesh", he /she was afraid or cowardly....or weak and feeble !
My self image is suffering somewhat here.....!
I did the Everyman earlier... a good puzzle, and still a tad harder than it has been recently.
I liked it.
I didn't know that the Great South Run was on today.
What a pity.......I have been at home all morning and could have watched it!
Anyone of note competing?

Hello, Elle!
No, I was not doing that, at all, at all!
The OED has dozens of examples of the word "nesh".
What is good about it, is they use quotations from where they have found the word used.
Many from way back when!
Quite fascinating I thought!
I vaguely recognised a name or two in the Great South Run.
Chris Thompson won the men's run, and Gemma Steel won the women's run.
Lots of fun runners in it, which I like!
Well done on Everyman!
My day off from puzzles.
The Wee Frees would approve of me!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I know Chris Thompson......he is a familiar face on the running track.
Didn't he win last year, too?
And I think he won the Silver medal at Barcelona?
I thought that Gemma Steel was more of a cross country runner than a road racer?
But I could well have that wrong!
I really am sorry that I missed watching it....but I rarely check to see what is on Channel 5!
The Athletics programmes are rarely shown on there, are they?
Very breezy here, now.
