Hello, Elle!
Loads of complaints from all over Europe about EuroSport Player and the dreadful service and inaction.

Now, on a lighter note,
type "Stephens Scared by Bug" into YouTube.
It is quite funny I think.
Nobody does press conferences quite like Sloane!

Also, Elle.
Type "Stephen's Priceless Reaction"
I like that clip a lot!

Hey, Rusty!
I would feel encouraged by the great number of people affected by Eurosport Player's ineptitude, were it not for the fact that I thought this about Chambers' notorious 13th edition.......
But Chambers did NOTHING!
Or at least, they did eventually issue a list of the 500 "missing" words!
Hardly a recompense, though !
I think I would behave the same as Sloane, were a wasp to come near me!
I thought it very amusing when she took her shoe to the bug!
And I loved the way she passed on the cheque to her friend, so she could hold the trophy........
She seems a nice unaffected young woman?
Yes, BB will make friends through his sporting enterprises.......
I think, when growing up, tennis is a good game to play for its social aspects as well as for the sport itself.
I always enjoyed the sport, playing every day whenever I could!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Chambers were useless, too.
Yes, Sloane does seem a very nice young lady.
She is now my favourite tennis player!
I am not fond of wasps either!
Mind you, Madison's cheque was for $1.8 million.
So, I think the two of them may go shopping together!
Rafa has won the first set and is ahead in the second.

Good morning, Rusty!
Fell dreich here this morning!
I got caught on the hop ,because it was sunny (and dry) when dog and I set out on our walk!
I heard on the car radio that Rafa won the US Open!
I am pleased for him.
It is good to see him playing well again.
I shall email the CEO of E.P. this morning.
It will do no good....but, on principle, I might as well add my bit !
Do you have any plans for today?

Good morning, Elle!
Rafa did well!
It is brightening up here.
Orlando and Miami Airports are still closed.
Let us hope the CEO's email address has not changed!
I have completed my plans for today.
Mainly obtaining discount vouchers for my Norn Iron friends for meals when they are here.
And I have posted them.
They will be here first weekend in November.
Question!
In the mixed doubles, what is the significance of players touching their partners hand after each point?
It looks a bit contrived to me?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is brightening up here, too - sunshine and blue skies at the moment - but I think rain is forecast again for later.
You will be looking forward to your friends coming over from Norn Iron in November.
But I thought you were planning at some point to go over there to stay?
Is this still on your agenda?
I am thinking that the hand touching in Mixed Doubles is just to convey moral support?
A condolence for a missed shot......a congrats for a good one?
That sort of thing?
I am only surmising........
I don't know how it first started, but it rather seems to have taken hold, and not a single rally/ exchange goes by now without its happening........
Maybe the players think they will spook their game if they do not do it?

Hello, Elle!
I am quite flexible about going to Ireland.
It is floating about in my mind.
This hand touching looks very contrived to me.
Not natural at all, and looks silly.
I have finished my puzzle.
A good one.
I can't quite parse 11a or 15a, though I am confident in my answers.
Did you email the CEO ?

Hi, Rusty!
I think the hand touching has just become an established "good luck" thing!
Perhaps the players now think that to leave it out would be to invite disaster?
I can live with it!
Yes, I have emailed the CEO!
and the email has not been returned , so let's hope it hits base?
I parsed 11a as:
flagpole = which can keep up standards (ie flags) (def)
flag- mark
pole - post
I hope that is right?
(I was quite happy with it!)
I'm afraid that I, also, could not fully parse 15a.
I have "liar" = one giving false response (def)
But can go no further.
I cannot see the definition in 3d?
I have "constituent"........
(anagram of "notice stunt")
Now..........the sun is again shining...and the sky is blue.....
I am just taking the dog out for another walk......

Hello, Elle!
I am following Irma and have discovered a place in Florida called "Yeehaw Junction"!
Isn't that a great name?
Let's hope the CEO responds to your email!
11, Yes, I have "flagpole", but where does "for attention" fit in?
I have "liar", too. I do not know how the setter gets it though.
I suspect it is a word with the letter "d" missing, to give "liar" but I can not come round it!
I suppose a "constituent" will be a person who is in the MP's constituency?
A voter?
Yeehaw Junction was originally called "Jackass Crossing" but the state legislators did not like it and they changed it.
I am glad they did!
