Hi, Rusty!
It is great that you had a good time with your son....the two of you are obviously very close.
Quality time spent with family is good!
Yes, I think it very ambitious to hope to shave two minutes plus off the two-hour time for the marathon at Monza.
They say they will be using a combination of "advanced running apparel" and an "army of pace-makers"!
I have heard Eliud Kipchoge's name mentioned as a favourite contender ?
Who else is competing, do you know?
I see in my new TV guide that the BBC are showing "highlights" only , on Saturday, of the Diamond League at Qatar
I hope to see far more athletics than that shown on the EuroSport Player.....
We shall see!
Yes, didn't I do well with my books?
Have you read/ seen "Lady in the Van"?
I only made a brief start on watching the film....
I am now debating whether to carry on ....or should I read the book first?
I think I am inclining to the latter.........

Hello, Elle,
No, I do not know "Lady in the Van", I'm afraid.
There are three athletes in Nike's "cunning plan".
Kipchoge, Lelisa Desisa, and Zersenay Tadese.
There are no drinks stations, they will be handed bottles etc by folk on mopeds.
Last I heard is there will be 103 million pacemakers! (Just kidding!)
Paula Radcliffe is helping with the commentary.
It can't possibly count as a world record, surely?
It is not really a race, but a huge publicity stunt by Nike, I think.
I do not think they have a set time for the attempt, but will choose what they think will be the ideal "window of opportunity" to run.
Very odd.
I think the first race at Qatar starts around five pm.
Programme lasts around two hours.

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a beautiful day here! blue sky, sunshine but a tad parky!
A great morning walk!
How are things at your end today? how are you feeling?
I have been reading a rather odd book...it is by an author whose books I have read before but this one seems to be a different genre....
It is a fictitious tale about a girl who believes that she has lived a previous life......very spooky...I cannot decide whether I am really enjoying reading it (does that sound strange?) but I have gone too far not to complete it now......and at least discover what happens to her in the end.
Then I shall start on Miss Beckwith's tales.......
Yes, the Athletics cover for Qatar, as you said, starts at 5 pm...... and finishes around 7 pm.
The only drawback is that I shall need to watch it there and then, as there is no means of recording it.
So hopefully, no visitors or phone calls during that period!
Tennis is on, too!

Good day, Elle!
Great day here, too!
I am getting there, still a bit weak, though.
I just wonder what you will make of Miss Peckwitt's books!
Hope the Diamond League is good.
Apparently, Laura Muir is training in Arizona, so I would doubt if she will be there.

Hi, Rusty!
You are improving daily........that is good.
But don't push yourself.
Take your time...... take it easy.
There is always tomorrow!
I am going out now for a walk with the dog.......all planned so that I can be back in time for the start of the Doha athletics on EuroSport Player!
It will be a shame if Laura is not taking part.

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I notice I am getting better with each day that passes.
Laura is not racing tonight.
She makes her Diamond League debut for the season later this month at Eugene, Oregon (Home of Nike!)
Some great competitions in Doha.
Very enjoyable!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, it is a good Diamond League, isn't it?
Not many Brits competing though?
Wasn't that javelin thrower superb - I cannot remember his name?
Was it Rohler? (with an umlaut over the "o")
That is now the second longest javelin throw in history!
Second only to that of the great Jan Zelezney!
A surprising Men's100m with Simbine taking it.
Neither Justin Gatlin nor de Grasse doing well.
Asafa Powell came second.
Nearly over....I shall be glad to be able to go and relax on the sofa!
I am watching this on my desk top in the window alcove in the lounge (overlooking the back garden), but sitting on an upright computer chair!

Hello, Elle!
What did you think of Eurosport's coverage of the Diamond League?
I saw Jonathan Edwards introducing the cycling earlier.
The start of the Tour of Italy.
They paid a tribute to Michele Scarponi at the start.
I liked the female sprinters!
They are an exotic bunch with purple lipstick and braids in their hair.
The javelin is a great competition.
Did you know it is the national sport of Finland?
So, is your Europlayer a hit or not, now you have seen the Diamond League?

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I thought the coverage on Eurosport Player was very good, especially in that there was time enough to watch each event and "take it all in".
I also like to watch at least one replay ........
This is because the first time of watching, I am concentrating on the potential winner or whomever I wish to win.....
In a replay, I can take interest in the other competitors and see how the rest of the field performed!
Makes sense?
The BBC are showing "Highlights" of Qatar tomorrow...........but it is usually a very poor offering indeed, barely introducing the competitors - and sometimes not even bothering to table the results.
So, a hit for EP!
Yes, many of the female runners were very exotically turned out tonight!
I liked Elaine Thompson's different coloured socks!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I dig Elaine Thompson and co's outfits!
A breath of fresh air!
I am glad you are pleased with the Europlayer, too.
And Steve Cram was commentating and that's a plus in my book.
I still can not find a time for the sub 2 hour attempt.
They say the ideal temperature for it is 10 C.
i can foresee trouble ahead with the mopeds passing drinks to the runners.
A bit unsafe?
Most of the experts do not think 2 hours will be broken.
Nor does Paddy Power!
We shall see!
