Yes, thanks Rusty - Difficult to see for sure if material got into the
bike or if bike upset the material!

Hello, Elle!
It is a lovely day here, too, though I did not venture out.
You will need to do your homework regarding sports packages to see which you prefer.
But in the meantime, I have phoned Eurosport and told them you are not happy at the lack of athletics on show.
They are extremely sorry about that, and have agreed to transmit the Paris Marathon in full, next Sunday morning, just for you!
I told them you would be very pleased to hear that!
Result!
The cycling was great.
A win for Phillippe Gilbert, and he deserved it.
A great attack and he did not come back!
I was hoping Sagan would win but he crashed and that was that.
Maybe next week in Paris-Roubaix (my very favourite race!).
The men are golfing now (in Texas).
The women start later (in California)
I am hoping Lexi "gets wet!"

Yes, Chris, that was Abdu, the Tashkent Terror!
That crash will likely be on YouTube, too.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I shall do some research into Sports packages to see what is on offer.
But from what I have previously heard, it does all sound very expensive.......and I am wondering whether my watching only tennis and athletics (I do not watch anything else) would justify the big expense?
But as you so rightly say, I need to look into this thoroughly and compare costs and exactly what I would get for my money.
So........I can look forward to tennis AND athletics this coming weekend then?
The Quarter Finals of the Davis Cup start on Friday - yes on BBC 2.
And you say that the Paris Marathon is being shown on Saturday?
And I can get that on the EuroSports Player?
Great!
Next on my agenda this evening is the Final of "The Voice: UK" - at 7 pm.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching this throughout the last few weeks- it is a pity that it is now ending!
One of the best parts of the show is the great rapport and good feeling between the judges - and the genuine support they offer to the singers.
This is how it comes across to me, anyway.
I shall miss it!
But then we shall have BGT......
You, especially, will be looking forward to that!

Hello, Elle!
Yes, the Paris Marathon is on Eurosport 2, so you should get that?
It starts quite early on Sunday Morning, not Saturday.
I think there may be a triathlon on sometime, and cycling is never far away.
There may be other ways of watching sport rather than signing up with BT or Sky, but I have not used them.
The young folk are the ones who would know.
Yes, I am looking forward to BGT.
My favourite show!
Remember to 'phone your cousin!

Hi, Rusty!
Sorry, you did say "Sunday" for the Paris Marathon - that was my mistake. in repeating it wrongly.
I have belatedly realised that we shall have our elder daughter and the boys staying with us from next Thursday for a few days...........so I shall have to juggle tennis, athletics and children!
I shall record what I can to watch later!
Yes, all the grandkids broke up for the Easter holidays last Friday!
I shall have to plan a big get together so they can all meet up!
Now..... "The Voice".......I think the winner well deserved that honour.
Of the three remaining acts ........he was definitely the best.......although I had liked one or two who didn't make it through to the Final.
Right...I had better phone my cousin now, as it is my turn this week..............

Good morning, Elle!
Yes, Sunday for the marathon.
Have you heard about the controversy in the women's golf?
Poor Lexi.
When she was coming off the 12th green yesterday the officials told her she had a two stroke penalty for replacing her ball in the wrong place on the putting green the PREVIOUS day!
It was a viewer at home who phoned up to tell them.
Over 24 hours later, Lexi gets penalised.
She was in tears, and then they told her because of the 2 stroke penalty, she had signed her scorecard for an incorrect score (that she did not know about) and that was ANOTHER two stroke penalty.
So, 4 strokes are added to her score.
She ended up tied for the lead with So Yeon Ryu but lost to her in the play-off.
It was a blasted travesty of justice.
High time the Rules of Golf caught up with 21st century!
I will watch the replays later but I feel very sorry for Lexi.
She does lots for children's charities etc.
This should never have happened in the way it did.

The penalty for incorrectly placing the ball is fair enough - she should have known better. (You almost never see a pro marking alongside the ball.) However the penalty for signing for the wrong score seems to be counter to natural justice. As far as she knew, she was signing for the correct score.

Hello, Chris.
Exactly!
She was penalised twice for the same offence.
That cannot be right.
The officials changed the score 24 hours later, so how on earth did Lexi sign for an incorrect score.
The score was correct when she signed it!
It happened to Dustin Johnson last year.
Time to sort the Rules, methinks!

Good morning, Rusty!
It was extremely foggy when I got up this morning!
But that gradually dispersed whilst I was out walking...and it is glorious now!
No, I hadn't heard anything about the golf!
In fact, I was wondering about the outcome......
Oh dear, poor Lexi!
I cannot understand how this sort of situation with Lexi could arise?
Is there not a golf referee on the course?
Surely any fault on the part of a player should be corrected on site, there and then at the time of play?
I don't know much about golfing rules, but in tennis for instance.......in the days before Hawkeye, a ball would sometimes be miscalled by a linesman.
Viewers at home might pick up on this, as the BBC might replay the action.......but the decision of play could not be altered by a phone call!
And as for adding the extra two stroke penalty...well, that seems harsh indeed.
Yes, I do feel very sorry for Lexi regarding that in particular.
Although the whole thing seems strange to me!
Can I add a bit of cheer here by saying that I heard on the car radio this morning that Roger has beaten Rafa in two straight sets, to win the Miami Open?
That at least is good news, isn't it?
