Rusty, Well done Scotland !
I know Rugby is not your sport, and that you have friends in Ireland, but a Scottish win might please you ?

Sorry, Pigale, goodness knows how that posted itself!
No, I have no interest in Rugby.
I do not know anyone around here, or in my family, who follow rugby.
But, if Scotland won, fair enough.
How are you getting through the Winter?

Not too badly, thanks Rusty;
at least it is much less cold at present -
Unfortunately my English friends had a pipe that
burst when the weather warmed up - luckily there
was someone in the house just on that day! and yet the
heating had been kept on low all the time.

I keep up to date with your and Elle's news but rarely take
part because of not much of interest to say! At least, you two can
compare views on books, TV etc...

looking forward to seeing Lassie and Laddie again!

Hello, Pigale,
You are very welcome to take part, as you know.
It has been a good winter up here.
Just a day or two of snow, and it is mild now.
Lassie flew in on the 18th March last year.
Laddie arrived on the 25th.
So, a few weeks yet.
I am not sure, at all, when they leave Africa though.
May take a few weeks to get to the loch.

Hello, Elle!
Wonderful winning run by Laura in Karlsruhe.
She beat Hellen Obiri (Kenya), and lapped the field, in the fifth fastest time in history.
Jenny Meadows set the early pace then Laura took over.
The girl is good!
Made my day!

Elle, Update,
It is a new European record.
And I think a new British record by around 5 seconds.
5 seconds is huge!

Good Evening, Rusty!
I am sorry to have been so long in replying....we have had a visitor.
(and consequently I missed some /most of the tennis!)
So Miss O'H is having a sleep-over at her gran and 'other' grandad's!
I am not exactly sure where is Fife? ( you know me and Geography)
I have a feeling it is near the Firth of Tay?
I am probably hopelessly out!
BB likes coming here for a sleepover , too - and of course the other two boys quite often come to stay by themselves in the holidays.
Now I may be naive and gullible when it comes to my favourite sports personalities - as I hate to think bad of someone I admire....
BUT when it comes to money matters and being approached along those lines ........
I have a nasty suspicious nature, and hope you will be wary of any "pension people" / financial advisors suggesting
"improvements"?
Be cautious?
Goodness, we have got round quite quickly to Lassie and Laddie's potential return!
I wonder if my Newsletters from the Osprey site will automatically re- start coming?
Or whether I shall have to sign up for them again?
Now...your last post and update!
Way to go, Laura!!
A new European record and a new British record?
Wowee!
(See, I do need EuroSport whatsit!)

Hello, Pigale!
How nice to hear from you.
You have been keeping a low profile.
We needed your expertise on split infinitives the other day!
I think it is sad that grammar is not "taught" as such any more......maybe the demise of Latin ( I don't think Latin is taught with much regularity any more? ) makes a difference?
How does "grammar" affect the use of French - it will be of much importance than in English, will it not?
Because of the way sentences are structured?

Hello, Elle!
Fife is a county across the River Tay fom me.
The Road Bridge crosses the river, into Fife.
It is not "pension people".
It is an option from the company I worked for.
It is their private pension plan.
I have until the end of May to decide whether to accept their proposal, or stay the way I am.
Laura was great!
Wonder if BBC will show it, or YouTube?
Now, this Nitro Sports, was it?
I came across it on BBC News/Sports site.
Bolt's All Stars won it.
Bolt ran the relay with Asafa Powell, and two ladies.
Two men, two women, in the relay team!
And there was an "elimination race", like we have in track cycling.
Last over the line each lap goes out. (Trotty's speciality.)
And goodness knows what the other events were like!
