Hi, Rusty!
Yes , you are right ... I am watching the Davis Cup on the Red Button at the moment!
Dan Evans for GB is playing Canada - and we are winning too!
Hurray for the RB!
(and for my new television and working remote control!)
BBC 2 is showing tennis tomorrow, too - and then there is the Nitro Athletics on Sunday.
A good weekend sports-wise !
I think we have family coming over on Sunday though, so I shall need to set the recorder for the Athletics.
(We do not have the TV on when we have visitors!)
Speaking of the Book People ...they keep sending me emails offering me "deals"!
What are you up to over the weekend?
Any plans?

You're right Rusty, about lots not liking books at all.
Neither of my sons reads any fiction, or ever has, not even for English Literature GCSE for which they both have As!
They have not even read the book I wrote (which is non-fiction)!!

Hello, Elle!
This Nitro Athletics sounds odd.
Only 5 teams competing, and one is Usain Bolt's All Stars?
Sounds a bit Harlem Globetrotterish to me.
Wonder if they will play "Sweet Georgia Brown?"
And in France there is a pole vault competition?
Odd!
Laura Muir runs at Karlsruhe tomorrow and I shall record that.
And the Lindsey Vonn documentary.
I agree with the TV going off when callers arrive.
The Book People are good.
My plan is visiting Miss O'Hara and her Mum at 10.00 tomorrow.
Nothing else.
I thought I would try something new today.
There was a ballet on SkyArts called "Firebird", a French production.
I have never seen a ballet.
I watched it for about 5 minutes, but it was not for me.
At least I tried!

Hey, Rusty!
I know nothing about Laura Muir's running at Karlsruhe tomorrow?
Nor a pole-vaulting competition?
Now.........tell me.......if I had this EuroSport Player that you were telling me about, would I be able to watch these two events this weekend?
I must seriously consider this, mustn't I?
Dan Evans won the match against his opponent - in three straight sets.
Kyle Edmund is now playing Pospisil; early stages and going with serve.........
Are you watching?
I am afraid that I too am no fan of the ballet, nor do I like opera.
I enjoy going to concerts and the theatre though.

Hello, Elle,
Both these events are on Eurosport.
Laura is doing a 3000 metre event, and I think it said the top 20 pole vaulters in the World are taking part at the event in France.
Now Eurosport has two channels, 1 and 2.
You would have to make sure you got both in that deal?
I like some arias.

Update, Elle.
If you had the Eurosport player, you would get the two weeks at Roland Garros, and the two weeks of the US Open.
That is four weeks of tennis that you do not get now...for a reasonable cost.
Plus all the Diamond League events, and the big city marathons.
Jonathan Edwards has just signed up with Eurosport as one of their commentators.
Also, it is Eurosport who have won the contract to show the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
And who knows, you may even become a cycling fan and watch all the major Tours and the one day Classics!
And I think you'd like the skiing!

Good morning, Rusty!
A miserable start to the day here......cold and wet........
We are reversing our "order of play" and taking the dog out a little later.
I am doing some household chores first thing instead.
Unfortunately , Kyle Edmund lost his match to Pospisil last night....
I didn't stay up to see the end though.
I was too tired!
I have been reading up more about EuroSport Player on Google, and it does sound to me as though I would get both the EuroSport channels with the deal?
It certainly sounds worth a trial period whilst only costing £19-99.
( but I cannot see me ever becoming a cycling fan! )
You sound as though you will have a good Sports day/ weekend!
What with the tennis, Laura's race and pole -vaulting.....and what else do you have to watch?
Have a good morning with Miss O'H !

Good afternoon, Elle!
Bit cloudy here!
I am not long home from my visiting.
Had a nice time.
The pup is very friendly and excitable.
I have been licked and scratched quite a lot !!!
My advice is to find out as much as possible on this Eurosport player deal. Make sure it is British Eurosport x 2 channels.
Then have a chat with your daughter to see if you both agree it is right for you.
If so, go for it!
I won't be watching the pole vaulting.
Just never heard of a stand alone pole vault competition!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I am glad that you had a good time with your family!
Did you find out whether Miss O'Hara has heard of "The Faraway Tree"?
We have been out, too ,this afternoon, for a rather belated walk.
We waited for the sun to shine , which it eventually did ...and is still doing!
It was a lovely walk - if a tad muddy!!!
We haven't been back long, but I got home to find an irritating letter from the tax man.......
I am still trying to sort out the Capital Gains tax from selling the flat........
So I have replied to it whilst still annoyed ( I think clearer when cross!) and shall send it back by Recorded Delivery!
Grrrh!
I think I have tennis at some point?
I shall investigate........

Hello, Elle!
Yes, Miss O'Hara reads a lot she was telling me.
Not sure what though.
She is away to spend the night with her Gran and Granddad across in Fife!
Hope you sort Hector out with the tax.
I have a letter here too, but not an irksome one.
My pension folk suggest adjusting my pension up the way and gave me a financial adviser to contact for free advice.
So... we shall see!
