Hey, Rusty
!I don't know of Major Armstrong - should I?
Oh wait a moment...the Hay poisoner?
Maybe?
But if that be he.......that is all I know!
We are as ready for tomorrow as it is possible to be!
The children have been dispatched to bed, with strict instructions not come down again, else Father Christmas will not come!
Their mum and dad are unloading all the presents from their car and piling them under the tree.
The boys are not to get up before 7am! (some hopes there, I feel!)
Tomorrow will be exciting!
What time are you going to your son's (the other son!) tomorrow?

Good morning, Elle, and Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones!
Weather is wild here!
Reindeers must be exhausted!
Is it the tail end of Barbara, or the start of Conor!
Yes, my book is about the Hay poisoner, and it is excellent.
I am going to my son's just before 10 o'clock.
And have to be home just after 12 for some of my granddaughters calling.
After that the day is my own!
Hope you all have a splendid time!

And a Very Merry - and especially Happy - Christmas to you and yours!
I hope you have a very happy day with your family - your son and family this morning, and Miss O and Miss L-B this afternoon!
Best wishes to all!
We have two very excited little boys here!
Santa has been .......
I must go and help open presents.......
Catch up with you later.......

Hi, Rusty!
How are you?
We are totally exhausted! but nicely so!
It has been hectic since the boys were allowed downstairs at 7am this morning (yes, surprisingly they held on till then!)
It was breakfast first.......then present opening!
Then playing games....
Christmas lunch went very well!
Despite the smaller oven, we managed to have everything cooked and ready on time!
Now.....personally, I am not thinking of eating again for at least another three days.....but a small voice has just enquired about "tea".......
"Hollow legs"?
How was your day? how did it go?

Hello, Elle!
You seem to have had a good time!
Me too.
Taking it easy, now.
I think I ate too much!

Hi, Rusty!
I am glad that you had a good day!
The boys packed away a good tea, but the rest of us remain satisfied with lunch....I doubt we shall eat again today!
The children are in bed, our daughter is relaxing with a glass of wine....I am about to make coffee for the rest of us.
Time to rest and recover!
No crosswords today!

Hello, Elle,
Well, I can not say I have no crosswords.
The young ones have given me a triple pack of Times Jumbo Cryptic Crossword books!
Will take forever to do, I imagine!
My eating is finished, though I do have a punnet of green grapes to get through!

Hey, Rusty!
That was very thoughtful of your granddaughters , buying you some crossword books.
I had completely forgotten that a while back I had treated myself to a Times Cryptic 15 x 15 crossword book from Amazon.
I wonder where I put it.......?
My son -in -law has just been checking the weather on his laptop...it sounds as though Conor might well be visiting you again?
I hope it doesn't prove too severe.
All is calm here.... we are supposed to have it sunny and cold tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be an even busier day for us....younger daughter and family are coming to see us.
And our son may drop in either tomorrow or Tuesday.
He has been working over the holiday period, but we have spoken on the phone.
Any plans for Boxing Day?

Hello, Elle,
I find the Jumbos hard work.
That is why I stopped doing them.
They became a slog.
One Times per day is plenty for me.
I have books to read, too.
My son and partner are raving about the Andre Rieu concerts on SkyArts.
They think they are great!
I like him, too.
Be nice to see the rest of your family.
And your new cooker did the job.
Well done!
No plans for tomorrow.
Just going for my paper and take it from there.

Hi, Rusty!
I don't do the Jumbo Cryptics either...but usually because I cannot!
( Their being too hard for me!)
Are you sure there will be a paper tomorrow?
I had it in my head that there wasn't one on Boxing Day?
Now .....how are you on the definitions of "sea" and "ocean"?
We were playing a game this afternoon where one had to name six "seas" - but an "argument" arose over whether an "ocean" constituted a "sea"?
Chambers seems to give the same - or a very similar - definition - and when I looked up synonyms, "ocean " was given for "sea", but (heated) opinion varied on this!
What do you think?
