Hello, Elle!
Even I have heard of Keynes, and I am not exactly overburdened with knowledge!
Dreich with you? Our frost has gone. Fine day now.
Good you stuck to Hawaii to the end.
Not a favourite of mine, and Caribbean is similar, so best miss out on that one.
I would have hazarded a guess at sign of the cross being the origin of fingers crossed.
Just a "stay at home" day for me.
I do not get a paper on Sunday.
I'll get on with "Tisha" !

Yes, Waddesden is near Aylesbury. I was pleased I'm a a member of the National Trust, though.
There is a gingerbread model of the house but we didn't see it- enormous outdoor queues and it was very cold. The huge Christmas trees made of wine bottles are extraordinary.
My grandson spent a lot of time chasing Pokemons!

Hi, Rusty!
Never mind! I know of Mr Keynes now!
The rain has ceased and the ground is beginning to dry up somewhat.
We are going out later, but not till about half past one.
Meanwhile, I have written some emails, and I have done the Everyman - even all the parsing today!
I guess I ought to think of updating my Christmas card list...and making a start sometime soon on my cards.
We have a lot to send!
BB has a birthday party to attend today so the family will not be coming over.
But of course we saw them yesterday anyway.
For some reason, I do not feel very "energised" today!
Maybe it is the fault of the dismal weather?

Good evening, Rusty!
We had an enjoyable afternoon 's outing.
The weather brightened , although I was surprised to hear on the radio that we were having "sunshine"!
I have been reading "The World is My Home"........
James Michener's "real life" story is proving to be as exciting as his books!
And yes, I have now met "Aggie!!
I am somewhat surprised by how much I am enjoying this !
I hadn't expected it to be so "entertaining" for want of a better descriptive word.
I find myself reluctant to put it down!
What have you been doing?
Did you go out for a walk?

Hello, Elle!
Been a fine day here.
That's good you are liking the bio and Aggie!
He was a remarkable man!
I have been adding addresses, and phone numbers, and passwords etc to next years diary.
Read a bit of Tisha, and watched twenty minutes of a football match.
Had my tea and that is it! No crossword today!
Remember to phone your cousin!

Hi, Rusty!
I didn't realise that James Michener was a Quaker?
Did you know that?
It might have been relevant to know it whilst reading "Chesapeake".......I wonder whether any personal slants came over in the story?
I would have perhaps paid more attention to those parts concerning the Quakers had I known of Mr. M's personal beliefs.
Yes, I will remember to phone my cousin!
We usually talk about 8 o'clock when she has arrived home from her daughter's.
So not for a while yet!

Hello, Elle,
No, I did not know he was a Quaker.
I suppose personal slants would come over.
You can't become a non-person when writing a book.
Everything about you will help create the story.
All your life experiences help to form you.
I am going to finish Tisha before I go back to Mr M's bio.
Are you leaving out food for Mr Jingles?
We should not forget our little friends when it gets very cold.
He may have a family to support!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, Mr M mentions that he is a Quaker in his autobiography.......you must have missed that bit!
( It would be very easy to do, as it was only in passing).
Goodness, Rusty, I am sincerely hoping that Mr Jingles is not a returning visitor!
I do not relish the thought of wild mice running about the house.....do they bring disease as do rats?
This is something with which we have never had to contend before......having cats has usually ensured that we have been mouse -free!
(Although it is said that there is not a single house in London that does not have mice!)
I certainly won't be leaving out any tasty morsels!
Hopefully, the presence of my cat will deter any future little furry visitors!
We do our bit... we feed our family of foxes! (who live in next door's garden!)

Hello, Elle!
Yes, I must have missed that part.
He has very decided views on many things as you will discover when you get to the pages in the book about Dundee's Medical School, and the amount of American students there, and the reasons for that!
No, Mr Jingles is a most respectable mouse and will enhance your establishment if you make him and family welcome.
I would not be feeding foxes though!

Elle, this Quaker of yours is attending Sunday Mass on Barra!
Are you sure he is a Quaker?
