The first reference is a song about Queen Salote going to Queen Elizabeth's Coronation!
I hope they work!

Hello, Elle,
Yes, the links worked.
Nice to see Queen Salote again!
Yes, she liked going to New Zealand.
She was at Elizabeth's Coronation and the people loved her.
When it rained she would not let them lower the hood of her car because she wanted the people to see her more clearly.
But, no, she is not in your book.
You will have to put up with King Kamehameha the Great.
He was over 7 feet tall.
Still a bit wet here!

Hi, Rusty!
We are just back from a walk....it is a glorious day.
And relatively mild, too!
The temperature must have scraped into double figures, I reckon!
I do not know of King Kamehameha?
Perhaps I should?
I get a little disconcerted by Mr M's mixing of "real life" people with those born of his imagination!
I also show up my ignorance of famous people about whom I should obviously know!
How are you doing with your book about London murders?
Any more 'landmarks' that you recognise?

Hello, Elle!
I do not think there will be a king in Hawaii anymore since they joined USA.
The book is OK, but several places I would not have recognised as being in Greater London.
Waltham Forest, Harrow, Redbridge, Richmond, Dagenham?
Still rain here!

Hi, Rusty!
I think most probably some - or even all - of these places originally belonged in other counties, rather than being "lumped" in Greater London.
I don't know Waltham Forest, but Harrow used to be in Middlesex - which in itself is now in dispute as a county!
Richmond was in Surrey. and Dagenham so far as I know is in Essex?
As Dagenham and Redbridge are a joint football club, I would assume that Redbridge too was/is in Essex?
(I am sure someone will correct me right if I have this wrong)
Why territorial boundaries need to changed, I have no idea!
All it seems to do is annoy the residents!
Take for example the not-to- be- mentioned disputed border territory between Lancashire and Yorkshire!

Hello, Elle,
Is there a reason for Greater London?
Is there an Inner London, too?
It is confusing to me too!
I always thought Dagenham was Essex, because I knew Ford made cars there.
Malone and me got a Cockney clue right on another thread!

Hi, Rusty!
Would you believe that Inner London is surrounded by Outer London , and the two together constitute Greater London?
Honestly, I kid you not!
We are in Outer London - and but a stone's throw from being in Kent!
Remember there is Greater Manchester, too!
Yes, I saw that you and Malone are becoming dab hands at answering Cockney clues!
Have you both been hobnobbing with Mr. R?

Hello, Elle!
As Malone almost put it, we do not have much choice!
That is strange about Inner London etc.
Why not call the whole lot simply, London?
Does it make a difference which part you are in?
I had an idea there was a Greater Manchester.
And "dial 0141 if you're outside Glasgow".
No idea how that got into my head!

Hi, Rusty!
And then, of course, there is Central London, which is the core of Inner London!
There are twelve Boroughs in Inner London - and I think an additional twenty (?) in Outer London.
I have just been talking to my cousin!
All is well up there.
Like you, she has been having a wet day!
She also says that it is very cold.
She is talking of Christmas plans.......I really must start thinking about that myself.
I am a trifle worried about the smallness of my new oven!
It has only two shelves, instead of the three that the previous one had.
I was pushed for space before.......cooking Christmas lunch for ten people now is going to be somewhat of a challenge!
Oh dear!

Hello, Elle!
And the City of London!
A tad confusing!
What about Westminster, is that a separate city?
That's good your cousin is fine, apart from the rain!
The oven is a fine size for your husband and you, that's the main thing.
At Christmas....you will manage!
And your family will understand.
And there is always sandwiches.
Problem solved!
Do not worry!
