Yes - i missed that! never mind - got there the long way round!

Sudo: Ha! Ha! But even though you see the name, what the blazes does that have to do with anything?

I've encoded most of the clues but still can't see any relationship to our honourable man!

The type of code is named after the man, it seems. I'm down to the last two - 7d & 12a, and I'm at a loss. Can anybody please offer a hint or two (other than giving up and going to bed)? Please........

12a think "cluedo" for the suspect on the board
7d it's a nut

7d - defn. before encoding is wood
12a - defn. new(inexperienced)

I take it the coded version of 7d is a kind of nut which, with a capital letter, could precede Woods, so to speak, but I still can't work out what the uncoded version is.

7d defn tree (kind of nut) - you know it starts with P (piano) & yes your coded answer is right

Yes indeed Martin! There is a cipher named after him. Blow me down - didn't know that.

I have a parsing question for 7D. In the word indicating nut, I can't justify the second and third letters. Help please.
