THEA, I'm sincerely sorry that you're offended - as I said earlier I knew that there was a chance that someone might be. I'm not about to get into a theological debate about the merits or otherwise of organised religion, but as an agnostic I do try to live my life according to broadly Christian values - especially those values shared by the Jewish and Muslim religions which are essentially a set of rules for peaceful co-existence - and I don't really expect a faith that has survived two thousand years of persecution to be troubled by the pinprick of a mild joke, especially when the joke is not actually about that religion's figurehead, but the fact that people use His name to express strong feelings.
As for the cryptic nature of the clue, you're right - by the standards that I set for myself it was slightly loose, but I thought it was worth it. I, too, am occasionally frustrated by the looseness of some of the clues in Clueless, Peer Review and JE, but I prefer to bite my tongue rather than make a discouraging comment which may upset someone less thick-skinned than me!

Hi Bullfrog
Thanks very much for your kind post.
Much appreciate any dialogue.
I still think it was TOO naughty but let us disagree in friendship.
Hope you have had a good christmas and that you get a Happy New Year
