Hi Like Aristophanes I am a High-Churchy type and I thought that Bullfrogs clue was in very bad taste.
Not only that but it is cryptically flawed.

More on these points later (if youre the least bit interested)

Kind regards to all ( I mean All)

THEA: I'm often surprised by the de rigueur unkind comments made about Christians, mainly because most of the representatives of the species I happen to know are kind, intelligent, tolerant people. I find such comments offensive and even bigoted. I suppose the reason I didn't "viscerally" find this clue offensive is that I think of It as our share in the utter joy of Creation, and thus also think that God isn't at all offended to hear His name called out when we're, uh, sharing. I've often hoped that you haven't seen some of the posts on this site; polite society doesn't tolerate similar comments about people of other faiths. I should think that your thoughtful, witty (and priestly) example would make us all more respectful, and careful. I for one would be very pleased to have you as a friend- and I'm sorry to have disappointed you (my eldest daughter says that males are incapable of progressing beyond the mental age of sixteen, and she's perhaps being generous). I think I'd hit it off with Bullfrog too.

Best wishes for the New Year, THEA. May we all be more appreciative of the hopes and loves of others, and happier.

good morning Ario
Thank you for your very thoughtful post. Still think Bullfrog went far too far for a laugh - a more than saucy laugh.
Expecting some stick!!!! but appreciate your friendship.
(BTW Still think the clue doesnt hang tog cryptically)

I am not qualified to comment on either the cryptological or the other contentious quality of 24 ac.

But it made me laugh out loud and later, when I understood it completely, brought back some very happy memories! Not many clues do that.

With your example as a male, aristo, your daughter needs a slight rethink.......

And if anyone feels able to give me a clue to 35 dn, please do.

Hi rosalind
I'm not sure if I've got 35d right, but I have a word describing a woman giving birth for the first time

Thanaks chrise, got there.
Not a good day for golf. I went to my wood yesterday and the glade was a lake- and where I was going to put the pond is not......
All we need now is below freezing temperatures and I could have a skating party.
