Anyone seen Times 25,000 yet?

These would be a lot easier if the "operations" applied to all clues, not just some (of course).

I have almost finished (three or four to go), but it seems 23D needs one letter added to the clue AND the same letter added to the solution. Surely not?

The fourth letter of 21A seems a little arbitrary, but must be 'S' I thought, until I realised the answer is 2-2, not 4. So is the fourth letter O?

And nothing seems to fit 9A and 17D! I'm still working on those.

You need 2 lettters in the middle of 17D

I am stuck on quite a few. I have an O as fourth letter of 21A. Not sure why but it fits (2-2)

Can anybody help with 22A please?

I have no letters but guess the second word is "head" with HE being additional letters. If it is anagram the first word is an anagram of robble

Strange you’ve got 17D and not 22A, jws – that was one of the first I did.

“Borble Head” sounds good, but it’s a toy you’re looking for.

I can find a toy from an anagram of boar bled plus 2 letters. I misread the instructions and was looking for the 2 letters to be adjacent.

I am also stuck on 9A. "Insect complaint (no tail) " (5). I have B?L?E

jws - the insect is a 3 letter wolrd. The complaint is a 4-letter word. You've got 2 extra letters ins. the insect.

OK today, but not as interesting as it at first seemed .

9A was my last one - expected it to require a one letter abbreviation to be inserted as others of that category are only one letter...

23D..one letter is added solution
21a..only one final letter makes sense for the category
22A..anag of boarbled and two added to clue...think bimbo!
