Oh. I make the additional letters in 9ac consistent with a category of abbreviations, all of which have 2 letters. The other category all have one.

Looking at 9ac again, the additional letters could fit into either category. I'd better check the others.

OK, I had a 1 letter addition to the 5ac clue that I wasn't happy with, but completed one of the categories. I see now there's a 2 letter addition which works much better, and will complete the other category.

I have a two letter addition to 5A(clue) of a category where they are all of two letters - still have another category with 4 of one letter and one of two....if that makes sense?

I go along with that.

Yes Micky regulars on here do like to discuss this crossword (& spectator & similar) on the day it comes out. Don't look if it bothers you!

I like to have a look to see if anyone needs assistance! Once they are running short of time/ideas! Not on day one!

9a still bugging me - that's not the insect, though. B-l-e: belle/belie and there may be other possibilities. Any offers?
