The problem is that I had a couple of answers they turned out to be wrong. :) But, with help, I’ve now managed to get 8d and 16a (I agree with some others - 26a is not a great clue). Now I’m worried I’ve got 10a wrong because I just can’t figure out how it comes from ‘darn rowers’.

Brilliant! Yup. That makes sense. I don’t know why I just couldn’t see that.

That was supposed to be a reply to bowergirls explanation of 10a, which seems to have disappeared? (Can’t quite get the hang of posting here).

Hi Rayt,
“Cycling" is a specific indicator which involves maintaining the cyclic sequence of the letters, i.e. moving letters from the beginning of the word to the end or vice versa. As such it avoids being an indirect anagram in the same way a reversal does.

Alan Connor explains it better than just I did here…

Enjoyed this one a lot although I have had to keep returning to finish it (finally, tue am)
I did the one in the paper today for a change but couldn't stop myself from touching the clues with my finger to try to bring them up, much to my wife's amusement.

Loi 23a laughed out loud at 3a so cod

Hi to all. Have observed the forum post for a while and found pointers very helpful. This is my first post as I'm stuck on 20a. Can only be one answer but can't parse it. Any hints would be welcome.
