Superior Everyman with greater difficulty than usual.
Liked 11d, 1d & 20a.

Glad I'm not the only one.

16 might be a proper word but it's one I will immediately strike from my memory.

I agree this week's was trickier than recent ones.

Glad to see the reverend return so I enjoyed 3a.

I thought some good clues and some not so good.

I thought 4d was poor (antiqued???) And agree on 16a.

My CoD 1d and 10a joint winners.

Interesting that the universal view so far is that this was harder than usual. Oddly it was a near write-in for me, and I struggled far more with the Quiptic (which has one priceless clue but one which was ambiguous in its direction at best).

I think 4d is a hidden word so not related to 'antiqued'.

I think yevrah is commenting on the word itself rather than its use.

Definitely a marmite puzzle then, as I'm very much in the Rogissimo camp (only held up by the rhyming pair). It obviously helps if you're of a certain vintage re the rugby player and actor. The former will surely cause a lot of headscratching around the world!
I'm now going to tackle the Quiptic with rather a lot of trepidation after last week's horrendous offering.

I also found this easier than the Quiptic, although this week it is by Anto who has form for providing over-tough Quiptics.

Already given up on the Quiptic after wrestling with the NW corner for 15 mins! Just painful, not fun. Have they changed the brief for the setters, do you think?
