Interesting that the universal view so far is that this was harder than usual. Oddly it was a near write-in for me, and I struggled far more with the Quiptic (which has one priceless clue but one which was ambiguous in its direction at best).
Definitely a marmite puzzle then, as I'm very much in the Rogissimo camp (only held up by the rhyming pair). It obviously helps if you're of a certain vintage re the rugby player and actor. The former will surely cause a lot of headscratching around the world!
I'm now going to tackle the Quiptic with rather a lot of trepidation after last week's horrendous offering.
Already given up on the Quiptic after wrestling with the NW corner for 15 mins! Just painful, not fun. Have they changed the brief for the setters, do you think?
