Happens to us all, PamD!

Started well yesterday with only SW corner to complete, but had no success with remaining unsolved clues.
After another go this morning and help from word search have finished but without that” wow “ feeling!. Agree with most of you COD has to be 14 although I like 10a . LOI 24 but despite help from forum I don’t see how last letter comes from last three words. Hope the weather is better wherever you are!!

For 24 you need to remove a synonym for ‘scotch’ from an earlier word in the clue to leave you with just a single letter.

But Jono I still haven't got 24d. It's the first three letters I'm having trouble with. I have ?O?S. A lot of words would fit, but I can't see the shy drunk, despite your earlier hint about coconuts, but perhaps I don't know a simile for coconuts. Drunk suggests an anagram, but it can't be an anagram of shy. Where am I going wrong?

Hi Roof, shy is the definition. The drunk is the first three letters reversed (knocked back).
