I'm sure you're right, candledave, but it's odd that very careful checking of each clue hasn't produced an error. It surely can't be that there are two separate sets of solutions providing a grid fill with the message, one with 15 pairs and one - mine - with only 13.

What I can find are 30 cells which contain the required digits, but not equal quantities of each. That seems a pity in such a well- constructed puzzle. Is that right, candledave?

Quite a fun nurmerical for me. I enjoyed the endgame. Thanks for the fun Hedgehog.

Still no progress. Are you suggesting that these clues individually help, or do they need to be taken as a group - they don't seem to have that much commonality?

Thanks

Taken as a group - 3 of them give you bits of information about different letters which then help with the fourth enabling you to identify three equivalencies

I am in a rather strange position here. I have a full grid with 30 highlighted cells but I cannot see what to put in the requisite 3 columns.
Going to watch the football now and hopefully see the light during half time!

Saw it within 90 seconds - just being a bit dim before. First mathematical I've done in a while at the first attempt, I normally need 2 or 3 restarts.

I’ve filled the entire grid but am left with one clash in one cell that I’ve checked about half a dozen times now. I don’t see anything in the preamble that would suggest such a thing but I’m baffled that the entire rest of the grid would fill so cleanly if I’ve made a mistake. Anyone else encounter this?
