Any tips for 12d please?

Re 12d. The first 4 letters are a word in the clue backward, the last 5 are a word for on the wing backward, the whole thing is a novel with a German name.

Two four letter words reversed (one is in the clue) around a three letter word for the bird, also reversed.

Good Everyman overall this. About the right level of difficulty. Agree some slightly loose clues but equally some good ones too. I particularly liked 17a and 19a.

6a - I am tearing out what little hair I have left on my head. Is ‘AI’ from artificial intelligence part of the clue?

I’m not sure that really helps me if it is!

10a - this is complete gibberish to me. I have the last letter and I’m still none the wiser.

Yes , AI is part of the solution,
10a is a rather loose double definition. You need to know what happens in Macbeth for the first one!

6a: AI is indeed part. Solution is "AI" preceded by most of "THE"
