I have found omitted letters in 12 clues, not 10 - giving the 10 letter hint.

Thanks Quiz (at # 23). It was the use of "bits" for I and O that held me back. I have not seen that indication used before.

I enjoyed this puzzle, although I have to agree with others that it was not as difficult as some other Listeners. However, I think that criticism of the setter is unwarranted. Without them, we would have no puzzles to solve. I would say to those who have been critical, why not try to set one yourself. I have tried and it is unbelievably difficult. Remus must have spent many hours putting this one together.

Well I'm the odd person out (again). Although the grid fill was comparatively easy and the replacement straightforward, I really struggled with the omitted letters (and still am). Not essential I know. I'll have another look but if the last letter falls in 42 across, I can;t think of an obvious, phrase to back-solve. Is anyone else having similar problems. I'd be interested to know.

Williamseal, the wordplay is 1 letter + omitted letter + 5 letters; definition horse.

It’s a word I’ve only ever seen in cryptics.

My post was not well-constructed. What I meant to say was I couldn't work out the hint if the last letter was the one that I identified. I am having trouble parsing some of the clues to identify the extra letters. However many thanks for your response.
